If you’re lucky enough to be an artist, don’t wait for permission to create.

Make the work. Tell the stories. Build with the people around you.

What are you creating right now? Share it below, save this reminder, and follow for more.

Three things I want you to do with your sides:

1. Understand them.
2. Personalize them.
3. Start with the section you know best and expand outward.

That’s how you get to something organic and lived in.

Save this for your next audition.

Gang, 25 years ago this sounded like madness.

Energy. Psyche. Patterns. An energetic theme running through your life.

Today, after decades of doing this work, I see it as coordinates - where to go, what to pursue, and why.

That’s what your Acting-Niche™ can give you.

Come hear me out. I’ll guide you.

Pacino never has to show us the drinking.

He shows us the behavior.

The fatigue. The posture. The way the body carries the character’s life.

That’s why I say: acting is behavior.

Watch Pacino’s body.

He crouches once… then brings the same physical choice back later.

And Samuel L. Jackson walks in completely alive, fearless, and committed to his own activity.

Study the behavior.

Gang, let’s go inside Sea of Love.

Pacino is funny, gritty, loose, and completely alive in the scene. Then watch a young Samuel L. Jackson enter - animated, active, committed, full of life.

This is what I want actors studying: behavior, activity, and how great actors fill the frame without forcing it.

Part 1 of 3.

Want to really get inside this scene? Go over to my YouTube channel and watch the full Sea of Love breakdown. There’s a lot more going on here.

There will always be parts of this career that require patience.
But patience is not the same as creative paralysis.

You do not need a casting director, agent or producer to give you permission to remain connected to your artistry. Gather the people around you. Study the work that moves you. Make something happen.

The projects you feel compelled to create often reveal hidden information about your Acting-Niche™. They show us where your imagination naturally goes and what kind of human experience you are built to explore.

What makes this work unique is it's as important for established artists as it is the newbie.

Stanislavski never asked actors to freeze his work in time. The point was to evolve it.

Technique should keep moving through psychology, through the individual artist, and through the changing demands of the industry.

Study the teaching. Use it. Then take it somewhere new.

What acting principle do you think needs to evolve next? Put it in the comments!

Actors, one of the biggest misconceptions is that finding your Acting-Niche™ will limit your career.

Sean Penn. Meryl Streep. Denzel Washington. Kate Winslet. Sam Rockwell.

Limited? Hardly.

What they have is a recognizable artistic identity and extraordinary range.

Your Acting-Niche™ gives clarity to where your power lives.

Still worried about being limited? Join me for the Acting-Niche™ Seminar tomorrow! Bring your questions, and your skepticism! 😉 Link in bio!

Dude… get niched. 😎

Not boxed in. Not typecast. Clear.

Know what you bring, where you shine, and what makes casting go, “Yep. That’s them.”

So… are you niched yet, or still trying to be everybody? 😉

Next Acting-Niche™ Phenomenon Seminar is coming up fast on September 16th at 7PM (EST). Take the first step at the link in bio!

You can make Broadway. You can land the big film. And your career can still barely move.

The question is: were you in a role where your X factor actually showed up?

That’s what your Acting-Niche™ helps you locate.
