We are building a community for the gospel musicians here in Nigeria, Ask Onyx™ was created to bridge the gap between talented upcoming musicians and the stages, resources, and relationships they need to become top artists.

As much as our vision and goal is directed towards gospel musicians, all lovers of music from every creed and genre is highly welcomed, in fact, encouraged to join us!

Moving forward, we'll be launching initiatives to help foster talent growth and launch careers (for those interested in doing music professionally).

The best practice for writing is to start writing!

Different strokes for different folks, discover your own way of writing (when, when, and how inspiration comes), become a literature student, read poems and expand your vocabulary (not restricted to any specific language or culture), for gospel musicians, the Bible is your encyclopedia, listen to the greats, emulate them and do it better. Keep practicing, consistency is key.

All these are not set in stone and there are 100+ ways to be a great songwriter or practice songwriting.

So, after years of church and music, my brother and I decided to recount memories, specifically the chaotic.

Born in the church to missionary parents, been active in the music department since childhood whilst tagging along with our parents on missionary assignments across Nigeria. Plus, visiting/ ministering in 50+ churches with our music band, we've had our share of 'SITUATION EXTRAORDINAIRE'

We'll be sharing real life experiences. Occurrences that happened to us, most times, right before us (eyewitness testimonials, if you will).

Expect the weird, the odd, the bizzare, the unbelievable, crazy stories and situation you won't believe happened in the church, especially its music department.

NOTE:
This podcast is NOT to shame the church nor pull it down, in fact, it is to elevate. WE ARE SIMPLY SHARING WHAT HAPPENED TO US/ THINGS WE WITNESSED.

We're sharing these stories, so those in the music department with crazy experiences know they are not alone (also, so we can get some things off our chest😅) Feel free to share your chaotic church stories with us, especially the music department.
