Happy International Women's Day 🥰

This IWD, I am taking a few minutes to reintroduce myself.
I did a post related to this last June and I think it is okay to do it again, so that many more others might join me in this creative pursuit.
My journey into this craft began during the pandemic and it has been 6 years of woolly dreams, knots, hooks, and patterns.
If you have been holding on to such a dream, or just have a tiny wish, this is your sign to start something today, pick up a hook, a brush or just a book. Something you can do for your soul.

Note: the image - My silly brother decided I look like that and did this to annoy me 🙄

Happy to complete my very cute WIP. I kept my patience and gave it some time and here's the magic 🤩.
I actually had a yarn shortage because I had just one skein but I found it online.
He's not perfect but yes he was made by me.

My dad wants to know how much this would cost? A rough idea . Anyone DM or comment below.
Few friends and family think I must sell my crochet work instead of gifting them 🤪.

The moment I was waiting for is finally here.
It is my first Guinness World record event and I'm so happy to share this with all.

It was a tough journey along the way but I learnt to push boundaries and learn so many different squares that I knew it was worth it.

This Record is for my parents who have always supported me.

Special shout out to my dad and sister for organising the dispatch in time to the event.

And thanks to my grumpy friend who helped me make trips to the yarn store 😃😃.

Once again thank you @mahila_manovikaas team and Ms. Tanuja.

I will be sharing the Granny squares I made in my later posts

Sunday motivation for myself and everyone.
Appreciate, acknowledge and accept 😁

Not all of us can read patterns or have access to them. So we rely on YT and all those lovely people who teach us.

It took me multiple attempts before I learnt the basic stitches. And after close to 7 years I still look forward to learn something new.

Happy Sunday everyone

I have been working on some things lately.

This is just a sneak peek.

Started a rectangle granny square.
It's been a while since I attempted this.
Decided to make it into a pouch.
Unfortunately the pics and the video were not clear while I recorded it.
But I'll try again 🙂.

Happy Sunday everyone..
Weather is slowly changing and we are getting closer to the magical time of the year

This magic crystal 🔮 ball or a snow globe is
The latest square in my year long blanket project.
I still have to add a few shiny bits .

Things you can do with a bit of yarn and imagination 😀.

All tutorials are on YT @jayda_institches

A little quick doily pattern by @jayda_institches

I used green polyester yarn as it was on hand but I'll try it in cotton and post it later..

It's small, and can be used in various projects.

Happy Sunday everyone 💕

This week there is a coin purse or a card wallet on my hook.

I don't remember making one of these.

Taken inspiration from YT

Today is the Feast of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Our Church organised a DIY Rosary Making Experience.

It was a beautiful experience to be surrounded by strangers who then became friends. Each one helping one another to string the beads, tie the knots while praying for everyone who needed our prayers.
The Priests then blessed all our Rosaries, made with our own hands and we recited the Rosary to end the event.
I am glad to be a part of this event.

Thank you to the team and volunteers.

I have finally got down to assembling this big piece.
By now you might know I don't like stitching tiny stuff.
Weak eyesight is another part of it.
But yes I try my best, because AI can't help me in this case 😊.

This blanket is a year long project with multiple pieces. So let's see how it goes 😄.

Throwback of my granny squares.

My sister told me I must work on a pouch to keep a rosary. She showed me some jute pouches to get an idea.
I don't see many people carrying the Rosary at mass these days. Even I used to forget.

So I decided to make one and have an extra pocket to keep the prayer cards. I have some of them when I can't carry the entire prayer book.

And this is how it turned out.
Something small and thoughtful.

I will probably make some other colours and patterns if I can.

Hope you like it 😊.
