Another great outing with Mother Nature to improve my attitude and sharpen skills. Today's ride started out as an easy gravel road cruise until a voice in my head, the quiet adventurous one, said "take the next Jeep trail on the left!". So I did and after more spontaneous turns down new-to-me trails I ended at the northwest shoreline of Gunlock Lake. That let me check off an outstanding goal and left me feeling pretty accomplished. As I worked my way back to the "main" trail I met two other dirtbikers who recommended a dry wash they had just ridden; promising some petroglyphs and slot canyons. They were 100% correct, but didn't tell me about the boulders and challenging terrain! Thanks Trent! My smartwatch tells me my heartrate peaked at 182 bpm while logging ~80 minutes in vigorous or peak cardio zones and another ~90 minutes in the moderate zone. Definitely a workout for me while my bike got dropped once and stalled 30+ times. I returned home tired and with a smile on my face along with a couple new trails added to my book.
