Last Thursday, I hosted a Veterans Town Hall at American Legion Post 79 in Riverside, bringing together veterans and their families with organizations and resources available to support those who have served our country.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about state resources, benefits, and assistance related to health, housing, employment, education, and overall well-being.

Thank you to American Legion Post 79 Riverside and its Community Outreach Committee, U.S.VETS – Inland Empire, and Riverside County Veterans Services for partnering with us and providing valuable information and assistance to our local veterans.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the veterans and families who joined us. It is an honor to serve those who have served our nation. 🇺🇸 by @asmcastillo

A major victory for vision care in California! 👁️🎉

Today I stopped by Assemblywoman Leticia Castillo’s district office at Jurupa Valley City Hall to thank her and her team for coauthoring AB 2756 and supporting greater accountability for Medi-Cal vision services.

Congratulations to Assemblymember Patrick Ahrens, the California Optometric Association, Assemblywoman Castillo, and the entire coalition that helped enact AB 2756 into law.

Recent data shows that only 16% of California’s school-age children enrolled in Medi-Cal receive basic primary eye care. AB 2756 will require transparent reporting on vision-service utilization, provider availability, eye examinations, eyeglasses, and access disparities—giving California the information it needs to identify gaps and improve care.

As an optometrist serving the Inland Empire, I appreciate this important step toward ensuring that every child can obtain the eye care needed to learn, develop, and succeed.

Thank you, @asmahrens, @coa_vision, @asmcastillo, and @jurupa_valley_gov, for supporting children’s vision and stronger accountability within Medi-Cal.

I joined Team RWB - Inland Empire for their 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, Walk, Run at Norte Vista High School to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call that day. I ran 2.2 miles in remembrance of the 2,200 steps it would have taken to climb the 110 stories.

Thank you to Team RWB for keeping the memory of 9/11 alive and helping ensure that younger generations understand the significance of that day and the lives forever impacted. by @asmcastillo

I was honored to join our Corona community for a prayer walk and to see the sea of flags placed in memory of the victims of September 11th.
Thank you to the dedicated volunteers and the Corona Chamber of Commerce for this powerful, solemn tribute. Moments like this remind us that we honor the lives lost not only by remembering, but by standing together. taken in Corona, California by @asmcastillo
