Recursion has been making its way through early listening sessions ahead of its release, and we're incredibly grateful for the thoughtful response it has received.
-
Across the early feedback, a clear thread has emerged: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 has been recognized for its meticulous sound design, its balance between experimentation and functionality, and the way each track contributes a distinct perspective while remaining part of a cohesive whole. From dark, immersive atmospheres and intricate bass manipulation to dubwise influences, breakbeat rhythms, and glitch-driven textures, the EP has been described as both adventurous and deeply rewarding to explore.
-
It's especially encouraging to see the music finding its place not only through focused listening, but also in playlists, radio shows, mixes, and festival selections. For an independent release, there's no greater compliment than knowing it has already begun connecting with listeners in meaningful ways and reminds us why we continue to support forward-thinking artists and uncompromising music.
-
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to listen, share their thoughts, and support Asoluna's 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. And as always, thank you for supporting Sonora Destroy Records 👥

Asoluna joins SDR with “Recursion”, a four-track exploration of experimental bass and cinematic sound design, that expands the label’s vision into more abstract and immersive territories.
-
Emerging from the U.S. underground, Asoluna represents a new wave of artists redefining bass music through detailed sound design and unconventional rhythmic structures. Her work blends glitch-driven textures, halftime grooves, and break-influenced patterns with a cinematic approach to composition, creating tracks that unfold as environments rather than linear club tools.
-
With previous works such as Aesoluea, Nakula, and Hatchery // Ichor, Asoluna has been shaping a distinct sonic language.
-
On Recursion, she develops this vision further through four interconnected pieces that explore repetition, transformation, and internal feedback.
-
Each track builds upon itself, looping, mutating, and recontextualizing its own elements, creating a listening experience that feels both hypnotic and constantly shifting.
-
The EP captures a delicate balance between abstraction and movement, offering material that resonates as much in focused listening environments as it does within experimental club settings.
-
With this release, SDR continues to explore the evolving edges of forward-thinking electronic music, highlighting artists who challenge structure, redefine energy, and open new pathways between club functionality and sonic experimentation.
-
Special thanks to the channels @seeksicksound @nu_kvlture @inttternetghettto for supporting premieres 🤍

New Premiere out now of the title track Recursion! Along with this beautiful write up 🥹
"Asoluna joins SDR with a deeply immersive exploration of experimental bass and cinematic sound design
-
@sonoradestroyrecs welcomes Asoluna, the experimental electronic
project of Selene Aurora, for a release that keeps expanding the label’s
vision into more abstract and immersive territories.
-
Emerging from the U.S. underground, Asoluna represents a new wave of
artists redefining bass music through detailed sound design and
unconventional rhythmic structures. Her work blends glitch-driven textures,
halftime grooves, and break-influenced patterns with a cinematic approach
to composition, creating tracks that unfold as environments rather than
linear club tools.
-
With recent releases such as Aesoluea, Nakula, and Hatchery // Ichor, Asoluna
has begun to shape a distinct sonic language — one that moves fluidly
between moments of weightless beauty and controlled intensity.
-
This upcoming release on SDR captures that duality, pushing into a space
where rhythm and atmosphere coexist in constant transformation. It’s a
body of work designed not only for
movement, but for deep, focused
listening — where each detail
contributes to a larger,
immersive narrative.
-
With this collaboration, SDR
continues to explore the evolving
edges of electronic music,
bringing forward artists who
challenge structure, redefine
energy, and open new pathways
between club functionality and
sonic experimentation."

Release Date: May 15th, 2026.
