"Imprisoned by the weight of atmosphere
we fret and spark
electrons in the dark behind God's eye.

Made in His image, but only of spare parts,
we are the cast-off dust of stars,
the grim remains
of apes who fell from favor and became
aware that we would die."

Gorgeous view of the northern lights, which have been especially active this week thanks to solar storms. I find it impossible not to see hints of the divine in images like this. The mathematics that govern our universe are just too perfect to be an accident 🌠.

"In this post war Tartarus that signs and sine waves cannot reach,
we hear and see no evil -
do not speak.
We die more frequently than stars
and start more wars
than we have blood or brutal words to feed.
They and we go down into the sea
to drown in moonless ambiguity
and die with Libra season.
Summer's end."

This is an excerpt from my current poetry project, "Libra Season". I used this stanza as a prompt for #midjourney, and I'm blown away by the results! This kind of lush, disjointed imagery is exactly what I hope to evoke with my writing. It's fascinating to see what the AI chose to highlight from something non-linear and metaphorical like this.
