POSTS STORIES REELS

It’s official! This week kicked off the NYC launch of #TheLayeredHome 📚🎉 at the uber glamorous @brass_tuskbar, presented by @potterybarn. It’s a true privilege to have the opportunity to gather friends, family, colleagues and mentors all under one roof. After 2.5 years of scheming, shooting, writing and editing I’m thrilled to see the book in your hands, online and in book + home stores nationwide—we’ve already shockingly sold through half of our first printing and sold out the event. Thank YOU for all of your support to my incredibly enthusiastic @penguinrandomhouse + @clarksonpotter editor @angelinladams, genius writing partner @christina_poletto, my “photography husband” manufotomanu, my remarkable friend + publicist @bates.molly and to the inspiring talent who let us inside—appreciate you @james_coviello @gregdomres @schuylersamperton @coreygranttippin @sinantuncay and @seanmcnanney for joining us and for your gracious and enduring hospitality. I want to share a special thanks to @stellenevolandes and @elk_elisa for their unwavering endorsement + my dear friends and colleagues at @elledecor and @townandcountrymag for always rooting for me. Cheers! 🥂 #TheLayeredHome is available now, link in bio.

Today’s the day *The Layered Home* is officially out! It was a privilege to spend time inside the homes of the inspiring creatives that I’ve long admired. Each and every individual featured so generously shared deeply personal rooms and spaces reflective of the layered, collected way of living that this book celebrates. Everyone’s style and taste brought a richness and point of view that shaped the book in a meaningful way, and I’m incredibly thankful to be allowed inside, and now you can be too. When ELLE Decor market director @aspoonfulofbenjamin set out to write 'The Layered Home: Inspiration for Crafting Cozy, Collected Rooms,' he was inspired by the kinds of interiors that catch his eye on Instagram. “I really enjoy dense images,” he says. “I like things to feel crowded and where there’s a lot to look at.” The result: 17 real, unfiltered spaces belonging to collectors and creatives who live surrounded by the things they love—holes in the wall and all. At the link in our bio, Reynaert takes us inside his new book and explains what makes the most stylish spaces a feast for the eyes.

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of the hunt, especially here for my first time in Round Top, Texas 🤠 (wait til you see what I scored…!)

I’m always on the lookout for unique pieces with history, beautifully worn surfaces and unexpected details and silhouettes. Half the fun is running into friends, talented designers and learning from the chicest dealers, some of whom you’ll see at @thetickingtent Nov 13-14 in Bedford NY. My biggest takeaway, the possibilities here are truly endless. Now I just need to figure out how to get it all home. 🚛💨 #aspoonfulrecommends #roundtoptexas

What makes a room unforgettable? Sometimes, it’s the slightly strange thing.

Benjamin Reynaert (@aspoonfullofbenjamin) has spent his career developing an extraordinary eye, with work spanning Martha Stewart Living, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Veranda, and Domino, and is currently a contributing editor at Frederic and the U.S. editor at Homes & Gardens.

This week, the editor, stylist, creative director, and author of The Layered Home joins Anne on Classic & Curious to share what years inside the world of design have taught him about making a home your own.

Think unexpected antiques, objects with stories, and pieces that make you look twice. Plus, the joy of discovery at ‘The Ticking Tent’, the antiques, vintage, and artisan market he co-founded.

What’s the one thing in YOUR home that always starts a conversation?

Maybe you have more than one, we would love to hear!

How precious are you about your art and pictures? Are you happy putting lamps in front of them and what about the odd sofa?

Here’s a selection of photos. This first one is of @seanmcnanney ‘s home photographed for @aspoonfulofbenjamin ‘s book “The Layered Home”! Photographed by @manufotomanu ! 📸

So what’s your view? Let me know below! 👇

As I was putting this post together I was staring at this very wall in my own kitchen and couldn’t help but add it in as well! 😉

A beautiful living room from @our1842home

I especially love that gorgeous lampshade base!

Not quite a lamp covering the art but I do love this interior by @emmasherlockltd ❤️

The mounts on the art are incredible and the lamp itself is just gorgeous! Love this!

This desk set up by @scenesdemenage_bruxelles is far more organised than my own! 😂 I love the organised chaos of it!

Gorogous loving room by @elizagranstudio! The flowers are everything! 🌼

The painting and the lampshade base match each other so brilliantly in this image put together by @lucycunninghaminteriors

Lovely gallery wall by @roarkmodern 🖤🤍

Gorgeous bedroom by @vanrenenhanbury.

@emmasherlockltd again with another fabulous room!

@sarahvanrenen’s beautiful home featuring a pair of lovely @bouraandwhite Bluey chairs and Collins and Green paintings each of them!

Bedroom by @max_rollitt with a beautiful layout of paintings- you don’t often see paintings set out like a gallery wall above the bedside table… I think it’s simply fabulous! by @aspoonfulofbenjamin
