2026 AOP Emerging Talent Award – Supporting Photographers at the Start of their Photographic Career.

Austin Bradley (UK graduate, 2025) has been awarded GOLDfor his work, 57 Metres : Iceland’s Shrinking Glacier. With climate change becoming hard to understand through anonymous statistics and figures, Bradley wanted to fi nd a way to visually communicate glacial retreat. In response to this he rigged a 57-metre highline across Sólheimajökull Glacier in Iceland, with the length of the line representing approximately how far the glacier retreats each year due to a warming climate. Over several carbon offset days Bradley worked with highliners, a small fi lm crew and a glaciologist, to document the process, which will later be released as a documentary.

2026 Judge, Jack Eames, himself an award winning AOP Accredited Photographer, says of the work, "I fell in love with these images as soon as I saw them - a fantastic execution of a really important concept, with incredible depth and texture, & a really visceral sense of scale both metaphorically & physically."

Khaly Nguyen, Marketing Director, BUILDHOLLYWOOD, says of the Award, “Emerging photographers bring fresh perspectives and new ways of seeing the world. At BUILDHOLLYWOOD, we’re proud to support the AOP Emerging Talent Award and give the next generation of creative voices a platform on the streets. @Photo.ajb 's winning entry is a brilliant example of the ambition, originality and passion for causes that matter coming through in this new wave of image-makers. We can’t wait to see his photography displayed on our sites, creating a street gallery across London.”

Sponsored by @buildhollywood , the Gold-winning work by Austin Bradley will be exhibited from 19th–25th October 2026 across selected BUILDHOLLYWOOD digital sites throughout London, creating a street gallery for the work across the city. In addition, co-sponsor @wexphotovideo will exhibit all finalists’ work onsite at their Putney store location in London.

Winners Announced for the 2026 AOP Emerging Talent Award – Supporting Photographers at the Start of their Photographic Career.

Ritchie Elder’s series 'Saturday School' won the silver prize for the AOP's 2026 Emerging Talent Awards, documenting the final day of the school term at the Ukrainian Saturday School at Leith Academy. Established more than three years ago, the school is the fi rst of its kind in Scotland. It provides Ukrainian children displaced by the war with the opportunity to learn Ukrainian language, culture, and history alongside their mainstream education and plays an important role in helping young people maintain a connection to their heritage while building new lives in Scotland. Elder worked closely with the children, their parents, and school staff to create this series. Saturday School forms part of a wider documentary project developed in collaboration with the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, documenting Ukrainian culture and community life across Scotland.

Kim Pappas, Agent, Process and 2026 Judge, says of the work, “There is a real tenderness to the Saturday School portraits, and the way the light falls on the young subjects is beautiful. A good portrait is emotive and moving - and I think this series touched us all."

Khaly Nguyen, Marketing Director, BUILDHOLLYWOOD, says of the Award, “Emerging photographers bring fresh perspectives and new ways of seeing the world. At BUILDHOLLYWOOD, we’re proud to support the AOP Emerging Talent Award and give the next generation of creative voices a platform on the streets..."

Sponsored by @buildhollywood , @wexphotovideo and supported by @genesis_imaging In addition, co-sponsor Wex Photo Video will exhibit all finalists’ work onsite at their Putney store location in London.

Specifically aimed at Photographers

As clients increasingly ask for credentials on managing your carbon impact, this course will give you the edge above your competitors, allowing you to demonstrate knowledge and ability within your professional practice in the field of carbon reduction.

Successful completion of this course will give you certification provided by the unique and award-winning Carbon Literacy Project.

Designed and delivered by Helena Lee, the aim of the Climate Aware Photography course is to gain awareness of the climate crisis – by understanding the science, policy areas and environmental impacts of climate change. Thereby encouraging individuals to consider their own practices and to identify areas in which they can reduce their own impacts, alongside how as photographers, they can communicate about climate change.

The Association of Photographers is delighted to offer this course in co-operation with Helena Lee. Recognised by the Carbon Literacy Project – which is itself recognised by the United Nations at the COP 21 (Paris), this course is specifically aimed at photographers and will help you assess your carbon costs and impacts so that you are able to make decisions that will effectively reduce your emissions.

“... Exceeded expectations, was very insightful & learned so much.”

About Timothy Brill:
I am an American photographer now living in the UK with my wife and our beloved border collie.

I have been pursuing fine art photography passionately for well over 25 years, participating in group and solo exhibitions in the US and selling work both there and in Europe.

My studio based Still Life photography takes inspiration from a variety of sources, including the 17th century Dutch and Spanish masters of Still Life such as Adriaen Coorte and Juan Sanchez Cotan, whose works often feature seemingly simple and frequently ephemeral objects depicted in austere environments.

I am also drawn to depictions of the outside world, whether in capturing the vastness of open spaces, or the intricacies of a forest, or an urban landscape.

Other portfolios include the written word, exploring personal and currently relevant themes.

In addition to my website, I am fortunate to have permanent gallery space in Lewes, East Sussex, where selected images from my portfolio can be viewed by appointment.

Bertie Watson

About Bertie Watson:
Before becoming a photographer, Bertie Watson spent nearly three decades immersed in the performing arts as a professional opera singer. Surrounded by actors, dancers, and fellow musicians, he understands the rhythm, vulnerability, and artistry of being in the spotlight, allowing him to connect instinctively with the people he photographs.

With a relaxed, personal approach, he draws out unguarded, authentic moments; then frames them with the elevated, editorial finesse that defines his style. The result is work that feels as timeless as it is current; as intimate as it is cinematic.

His images have appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ and across campaigns for the world’s leading fashion houses, jewellery brands, and film studios. Bertie’s portrait work has captured Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Sylvester Stallone, Jessica Chastain, Kevin Costner, and many more.

His clients include leading fashion houses such as Prada, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Giorgio Armani; luxury jewellery and watch brands including Chopard, Jaeger-LeCoultre and Hublot; and global entertainment names like Sky TV, Apple TV+, Searchlight Pictures, Paramount+ and BAFTA.

Sarah Louise Ramsay

The Last Few
By law the bulk of fish caught in Cuban waters must be handed to the state for distribution amongst the people. However some of the poorest in Havana are brave enough to provide for their families, by venturing out to sea:they use nothing more than inner tubes from tractors, as makeshift fishing rafts.
These are the very same Balseros that they used in the 1980’s mass exodus from Cuba to Miami..
Every voyage then and now is both an adventure and an escape-

There used to be many, now there are just a few…

24"x36" Print with 1cm white border

Reserve Price £250

About Sarah Louise Ramsay:
Sarah Louise Ramsay is based in London and has worked as a professional photographer since the early 1990’s.

Her photography is exhaustively researched, firmly grounded in reality and informed by the belief that people are essentially all the same despite the very different circumstances in which they find themselves.

Sarah strives to establish a profound connection between viewer and subject driven by a desire to capture genuine issues and situations. This, and Sarah’s attention to detail is present in all of her work and reveals the social fabric and political narratives underlying individual human moments.

Sarah believes in the empowerment of all people within their chosen communities and celebrates who they are regardless of financial or social status, or diplomatic struggles.

Having previously shot in Cuba, Sarah’s return to Havana afforded her an opportunity to reconnect with those who live there and to explore their relationship with water, a subject she’s been investigating for the past few years.
