Stage 1 recap ✔️ @gravel_burn

Gravel Burn is underway. Today’s stage took the riders from Graaff-Reinet to Blaauwater, straight into the heart of the Karoo.

And today was all about @lina.bo26 . We followed her from start to finish as she took us through her day: the early wake-up, the nerves on the start line, the long kilometres of Karoo gravel and the push all the way to the finish. She shared every high and low of the stage with us, and her effort paid off with 2nd place in her age group. 🥈 A strong start to her Gravel Burn.

Here’s how our riders did on Stage 1:

PRO MEN
@hugodrechou – 4th (2:37:08)
@aaronvanderbeken – 15th (2:39:20)
@simon_pellaud – 32nd (2:43:59)
Same positions in the GC.

PRO WOMEN
@axelledubauprevot – 10th (3:17:00)
@s.diekie – 16th

AGE GROUP
@lina.bo26 – 2nd in her category
@laurapetri – 4th in her category

Touchdown in South Africa, straight into the dust.

@simon_pellaud, @laurapetri and @_de_by took us along for their first recon ride: gravel roads through the Karoo, wildlife encounters and rivers to cross. Quite the welcome.

@gravel_burn is about to take over our days. A week of stage racing through South Africa’s wild landscapes, with our athletes and ambassadors lining up for an adventure that will ask plenty of their legs. And probably even more of their heads.

We’ll be on the ground to bring you the racing, the chaos and everything in between. Behind the cameras? Early alarms, long transfers and a few endurance tests of our own. Our production crew may have forgotten to taper.

Stay close. It’s about to get dusty. by @assosofswitzerland

Find your rhythm, even when the temperature falls.

Keep the warmth you need, release excess heat as the effort builds, move freely through every pedal stroke. The FW26 GT collection takes care of the details, so you can settle into the ride.

From the first cold mornings to deep winter, with added insulation and coverage from GT Ultraz when the season demands more.

Big landscapes, even better company.

Lina brought a group of women together to explore Ecuador by bike. A shared love of riding was the starting point. The rest grew with every kilometre: trust, laughter, and the freedom of discovering somewhere new together.

For the queen stage, they all wore ASSOS Collective13. A shared kit for a shared spirit: showing up for each other, finding encouragement when the legs get heavy, and making sure everyone feels part of the ride. by @assosofswitzerland

Leaving Vancouver by ferry, two friends from @bicicletta.cc set out for a couple of days on gravel, between British Columbia’s ocean views, forests and mountain trails.

The essentials strapped to their bikes, with room for a deck of cards. Because the best parts of bikepacking aren’t always spent pedalling.
