Jonas Wood is an American artist based in Los Angeles, known for colourful paintings of everyday life—from plants and interiors to sport. His work turns familiar scenes into bold arrangements of shapes and patterns.

He began painting tennis courts in 2011, often using televised matches as his starting point. By removing the players and flattening the perspective, he draws attention to the court’s colours, lines and geometry—turning a place of movement into a work of art.

As padel takes over the growth of sport in contemporary culture will we be seeing some paintings with padel courts?
