Rainbow Quartz - Hypothetical Daylight Palette Decided to sort out her color palette on a whim after watching some clips for other stuff. It was actually kind of a challenge cross-referencing all of the scenes and the model sheets! Most folks give her blonde hair but after analyzing the lighting in that scene, I actually feel like she has mostly pink hair with blonde highlights (you can see this in the shadows, where all of the characters have a more accurate color palette in that music video scene - and it's more obvious in RQ's model sheet). Skin tone and gem color is lifted straight from Rainbow 2.0 since I feel like that wouldn't change much between Steven and Rose. Sheer top is approximated to follow closely to Pearl's shawl. Incidentally, on the day I posted this to the subreddit, there was another post with some amazing trivia I hadn't heard already: Rainbow Quartz's dance is directly inspired from choreography in The Cars music video "Why Can't I Have You" ! Oddly enough, Rebecca Sugar herself had already mentioned this source of inspiration quite some time ago on TikTok, but I don't use that platform so... RIP. ALSO feel free to post who you think would voice her! WOAH !!! ๐ŸŽฎ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“ฆ Crash Bandicoot! 30 years of this goober, where does the time go? This series is one near and dear to my heart. It's been a rough few decades not gonna lie to y'all, but he's hanging in there! Glad I got to finish this in time for the 30th hullabaloo. It's rare that I draw my other fixations these days unfortunately but I love taking that dip every now and then. If you're wondering as to the significance of the HUD numbers, as of -2026-, Crash has had -35- published games in the series' -30- years. If Wikipedia is to be believed anyway, lol. Ey yo, what's a guy gotta do to get some refreshments around here ehh? ๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿฅค๐Ÿท Vinnie Stoker from Gravedale High 1990 Saw this dude in a reel recently and the concept ate me tf UP. A Greaser Vampire, are u fukn serious rn. I had to draw him, I'm sure you all understand. ๐Ÿ”ซ He really was the best thing about that series, a lot of GH does NOT age well... but it's cute enough for what it was, nothing game-changing. Only 1 short season to boot. Slide 2 has recreations of what I would guess are his iconic poses, but everything else is just me having some fun. Though not gonna lie, that one scene with him and Reggie Moonshroud (depicted last slide) is going to live in my head rent-free for a long, long time. ๐Ÿ’€ The series is on YouTube and InternetArchive in majestic 360p btw, I think only 2 people have the full series uploaded LMAO it's on the cusp of becoming lost media. "No Turning Back" Rose Quartz sketch I often think about what Rose's final days looked like. From her decision to have Steven, up until his birth. While we don't know exactly the timeline of how everything went down, something tells me she knew what she was getting into well before finalizing her choice. The End of an Era artbook was such an interesting read back in 2020 and really recontextualized Rose's character for me (as well as some themes within the show in general). Lars and the Off Colors! ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿฅโ™Š๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฎ It occurred to me that I've never featured the Off Colors in a post before. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ With the new show announcement I figured it was time to change that. As someone who (pretends to) like consistency, it was an interesting task to try drawing these guys to scale. There's no official size chart or anything so these are the sizes I settled on. It's also why I tend to make gems really tiny on fusions. It was tough getting the colors right, as the Off Colors rarely appear in daylight, unobscured. Oh well! I quite like Lars's captain outfit without the cape to make it more casual. Cameo appearance of skull ear gauges. Also, Padparadscha is levitating if you couldn't tell. I like to think she has this ability like Sapphire, she just perhaps never discovered it on her own. I hope the new series gives some TLC to this bunch. We really don't get to know much about them aside from their outcast status. They deserve some time to shine! We don't really get to see much of angry Rose so I made sure to include one of the angry ones here. While I don't have a specific backstory behind that sketch, I imagine she would look something like this during her confrontation with Bismuth. Malachite's Depths ๐Ÿ’งโ›“๏ธ๐Ÿ”ถ Kinda wish we got more insight into what a synchronized fusion of Malachite would have been like. She was instead split between her component's goals and wasn't really her own identity. Lapis bit off more than she could chew and her game of vengeance ended up backfiring. Water Witch ๐Ÿ’งโœจ๐ŸŒŠ Yet another comfort character of mine. I seem to gravitate towards all the controversial characters, huh. Don't blame me heauxs, blame Sugar for making them peak (and realistic). Pearl's reformations! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค A remaster of an older, similar compilation I posted a looong while ago. Never shared it on here (sorry!). I wish we got a bit more time with Pearl's debut outfit. It's got a strange charm to it, though the art of Pearl during this time definitely leaned more "frumpy" unfortunately, which didn't do the outfit any favors. Her main outfit will always be the definitive look to me though. Her Future look is pretty nice too but I just wish the jacket had better proportions. Getting the colors right on her war outfit was a challenge but I think I got it almost perfect. There is exactly one two-second scene of it in full daylight but it's hard to tell if the color was accurate even with Rose next to her.
