Never thought I could miss someone as much as I miss you…❤️‍🩹

No one really tells you how much of a best friend a dog can become, or how deeply that little furry soul can change your life.
People always talk about losing loved ones, but no one prepares you for what it feels like when your best friend leaves this world.

Pet losses are often overlooked, and I get it. How could you miss someone so much when they never spoke to you once? It almost sounds funny when you think of it that way—Chiky probably didn’t even know my name. So why do I miss her every single day of my life?

This past year without her has been so much harder than I ever imagined, and I know the road ahead will be long. But just knowing that I had the best (and I know everyone says this, but I truly did have the BEST) doggy I could’ve ever dreamed of, gives me such comfort. That thought eases, even if just a little, the pain and sadness my heart feels.

I will forever be incredibly grateful to have had Chiky in my life, and she will always remain in my heart. I find peace knowing that at least one of us was lucky enough to spend an entire lifetime with the other.
