From my Thesis exhibition @yalepainting ✨💫

Feelings operate like weather. Like clouds or fog slowly gathering in the air. Images hover between landscape, symbol, and figure, never fully settling into any single form.

This painting probes for that condition, a presence forming and dissolving at the same time.

Work from my recent thesis exhibition @yalepainting

I often think about how color functions as a proxy for bodies, capable of both expanding and flattening the meanings and narratives assigned to them.

This painting emerges from an ongoing investigation into chromatics and the construction of an optical black through color mixing. The pigment puddles and migrates across canvas until the surface begins to shift; until darkness shimmers blue and perception slows long enough to discern it.

✮✶✨ Congratulations Kimberly (@astropomegranate ) on completing your final Pit Crit this fall! ✨✶✮

“My work explores the slipperiness of perception in shaping subjectivity. Through color, gesture, and material experimentation, I question the eye as a trusted narrator, probing the thresholds between seeing, sensing, and feeling.”

Sharing a portrait I made of my dad from my As Symbol & Concept series. I was lucky to be in AL with him today and saw it hanging on the wall in the background where we tearfully + joyfully hung it together last summer.

Love you Dad 💐😚 #HappyFathersDay by @astropomegranate

About last night… 🌚 Somehow Desire, Part 1 Thesis Reception @yaleschoolofart @yalepainting

We did that. I’m incredibly proud of my work in this exhibition. I’m sharper now, and all the better for it. 💐

I’ve always understood that the body and the image are deeply entangled. 🪢 My work is an ongoing inquiry into the conditions and histories that shape this relationship.

Not all conditions can be seen, and some histories remain hidden. Both can be sensed if we choose to turn our attention toward them ♾️ taken in Yale School of Art by @astropomegranate
