8 years with the m2

What is there left to say?

-2 turbos
-5 sets of wheels (3 sets of bronze TEs)
-1 Wing
-2 exhausts
-2 sets of coilovers
-3 sets of brakes
-and a laundry list of other changes that this car has been through

This is my favorite car ever. It’s so balanced and responds to every input so well. The n55 is charismatic and powerful.

I’ve dialed out every flaw that I personally had with the car and we’re finally at a point where I can just leave it alone and enjoy it. (The final version of this car will finally be able to be worthy of being called a BMW version of a gt3) by @astsa.auto

1 year review with the CTR. One of the best cars I’ve ever owned and quite possibly the best car stock car I’ve ever owned

The highs
-the steering and shifter are out of this world compared to what you get out of any BMW product and I think it’s the best feeling shifter under 100k including non-gt porches.
-this car makes you feel like a hero, the front end grip feels infinite and you can rotate the car so easily with the brakes and weight transfer
-the seats and interior honestly belong in a car twice its price and honda really nailed the interior design of this generation
- I was lukewarm on the the styling when the FL5 was announced but it’s really grown on me. It’s such handsome and timeless shape. I think it’ll go down in history as timeless as the ek9 CTR
-I love how this car can carve the canyons all day long and then hit the freeway and get 30 mpg comfortably.
-this car is fast. The in gear acceleration genuinely feels on par with my m2 and it feels like a rocket ship coming out of the corner.

Enough with the glaze, time for some of the not so highs -the wheels and tire combo still confuses me. I don’t know why Honda didn’t just give this car 18s from the factory. I’ve damaged 3 of the 4 original tires… this will be addressed with some Advans in the future 🥸
-the k20c unfortunately just doesn’t sound that great, that just happens to be the reality with turbo 4cly but I’m hoping a remark exhaust opens up the sound and gives it some character.
-despite the amazing out of the box handling, the alignment needs work. This car desperately needs some camber. On high speed corners you can really feel the tires scrub/roll and on low speed corners the car just doesn’t want to turn in.
-this car feels huge, compared to the fk8 this car just feels like it takes up a lot more space on the road. Not great on canyons like GMR or Azusa.
-the suspension is way too stiff. I’ve been thrown from my seat multiple times and you can feel the car getting upset when you hit bumps mid corner.

Overall I think she’s a keeper. I can’t imagine a better daily for my usecase at the moment. And I’m excited to add a little bit of fizz back into the car. 9/10 by @astsa.auto
