First look. After some years in the making, I am delighted to announce our hotel project, for Puro Budapest. Commissioned by Rune Askevold @raskwar and our dear friends at @purohotels, the project combines 217 rooms, and over 2000 sqm of very public spaces, linked by a series of passageways, courtyards and gardens. Located in downtown Budapest just footsteps away from the city opera house, the hotel is deep on site and will complete later this year. Huge thanks to all those involved from the studio, our partners at Archikon and the many others and hands involved in developing this project. The enclosed is from the latest edition of Sleeper Magazine out today, thank you to Sleeper magazine for this piece. We’ll be sharing more shortly, and as the year progresses, and the spaces are crafted and evolve. With light as its primary material, the space is remixed. Internal timber facades, referencing modernist spatial structures, draw in toned light from different angles, backlight, uplight. Raw canvas, left untreated, creates shadowed contrast. Dark brown bentwood chairs, white tablecloths and minimal brass lighting link to the feeling of a grand dining room, but abstract, remixed, in process. A space for the unstoppable warmth of Sessions Arts Club’s service. Sessions Arts Club x Frieze Vol. 2 Returning for its second volume, the project is built as a stage for collaboration. Artist Jonny Gent of Sessions Arts Club reunites with Russell Potter of Soda, floral artist Hattie Fox and A Studio Between.
