Celebrating the small wins.

Last Tuesday marked the end of my first 8 week pre-accelerator program at the Western Sydney Startup Hub. We spent the last few months learning from fellow founders & mentors to bulletproof our start up ideas.

commonhouse.studio is a project that facilitates and empowers entrepreneurship in this creative economy.

This marks the beginning of our new phase and we’re looking forward to working alongside some of Australia’s best upcoming community leaders - the ones who wear their heart on their sleeve, pushing to make a real change in the industry.

Where do I even begin to talk about what happened on Saturday night at Common House for our Red Rug Sessions event… 🥺

This was hands down our best one to date. The amount of love in that room was so overwhelming, I’m still trying to process everything. I cannot thank every single individual in that space enough. Thank you for showing up to support this incredibly meaningful project of ours and for backing emerging artists. It honestly blew me away to hear that some of ya’ll travelled all the way from the Eastern Suburbs 🥹. To all my girlies who came solo, and to the kids running around enjoying themselves… my heart is so full 🤎

None of this would have been possible without the team. Firstly, thank you to the @commonhouse.studio crew - my partners, my sweet sweet boys for having my back and uplifting me when I was stressed and anxious. Thank you @justincueno for bringing the most electrifying energy and making everyone feel so warm and welcome - you are beyond talented for your age, it’s wild. Thank you @a1stretch for being such an incredible human and staying cool, calm, and collected all night - you were unbelievable. Thank you @culinarybeat for cooking up an absolute stormmm, cannot wait to see what’s next for ya’ll 👀

To all the artists on the lineup @doofus.wav @ladyking.music @rissa.kl you were phenomenal, and I can’t wait to see ya’ll kill it in this music industry. @timba.wav thank you for sharing your gift and talent once again, this time on the decks and lastly, to our girl @eemilyrhodes your first time hosting and you absolutely KILLED it. You were such a natural - watching you shine made me so proud 😭

This night will be embedded in my mind forever. There’s so much more I want to say to help you understand the importance of this event for the Australian music scene… but honestly, you just have to come and experience it for yourself. Until next time ✨

New work I’m exploring, in collaboration with @grentperez @mngny_ @at.enza !

This collaborative project blends my exploration of identity using banana leaves as a symbol with self-portraiture with friends. It questions who holds the gaze: who is the photographer, and who is the subject? Inspired by artist Paul Mpagi Sepuya, I invite friends to co-compose images, shifting control. I look into themes of visibility, anonymity, and the dynamics of being seen.
