Made @gertie18 ‘s Claire 1950s dress as a little palate cleanser after a lot of cosplay sewing this summer. Turned out cute! We love a giant pocket. Fabric from LA fashion district, vintage buttons from Etsy. by @atacatsews
Morticia is so outdoorsy. See? Outside, in nature. Ready for adventure. As long as it doesn’t mess up her makeup or shoes. by @atacatsews
It’s @rosecitycc weekend! Thank goodness for a well-timed escape from reality. I’ll be rewearing cosplays for all 3 days. Definitely Frieren and Morticia, Sunday is TBD on how much steam I have left in me for wigs and high heels. So excited for the cosplay competition, lots of book panels with my favorite authors, and watching Patton get up to some antics. Hope to see you there! by @atacatsews
Had a wonderful time at @lojmasquerade last night as a fashionista kitsune! I knew as soon as I saw this outfit in @yoshiyoshitani ‘s Foxy Fashions book that I needed to make it happen one day. Fabrics from @moodfabrics , pattern hacked from a vintage @mrsdepew repro, mask from Etsy (with some hand gilding). by @atacatsews
So nice to meet @plaid_hippo at #sdcc this year. He took some impromptu photos on Sunday, and they turned out lovely! Always nice to connect with creative folks at cons. by @atacatsews
Mon Mothma pre-wedding outfit debut at #sdcc today. There were so many stunning costumes from season 2, this will not be my last cosplay from the show. Aside from the awful Etsy belt, very happy with how this turned out. Fabric from @moodfabrics , pattern hacked from @gertie18 , shoes from @memeryshoes , wig from @ardawigs . Not sure how I feel as a redhead though. by @atacatsews
Morticia braved the sunlight and outdoors at @comic_con today. As soon as I saw this camp counselor look in Wednesday Season 2, I knew I had to make it. Fabric from @moodfabrics and @primefabricsnyc , hat and veil from Etsy, wig from @coscraftuk , boots from Ouku. Patterns hacked from free Mood options. by @atacatsews
Loved seeing the @deyoungmuseum Monet in Venice exhibit in costume with @gbacg today. Courage shoulders, canals, and pigeons for the win. Rewore my 1890s wool walking suit made in 2023 for the occasion. by @atacatsews
An absolute delightful evening at Le Bal des Artes last night. Gorgeous venue, fun dancing, and so so many beautiful costumes. My new 1890s ballgown looked right at home in the venue. Thank you @sewstine for hosting such a wonderful evening! by @atacatsews
It feels dystopian to post a pretty dress during this absolutely insane, awful time… but keeping hope alive enough to work on a silly craft felt like a win. Excited to wear this Belle Epoch ballgown to @sewstine ‘s Art Nouveau ball next month. Pattern modded from Past Patterns, beautiful fabric from @silkbaron , lace from @britexfabrics . Guest appearance by @ladyellathef by @atacatsews
Last sewing project of 2025 - the skirt for an 1890s art nouveau ballgown. Gorgeous silk from @silkbaron, pattern from Past Patterns. Happy new year, all! by @atacatsews
Happy belated birthday to @dauphinecouture , who arranged a lovely outing to the @legionofhonor this weekend to see the Morisot and Manet exhibit. We all wore Victorian outfits and learned a ton from Sara about her favorite artist. My tea gown was comfy and dramatic to wear. by @atacatsews
