Hajimemashite, Kyoto!👋🏻

Ever since I learned that Kyoto was modeled after Chang’an (from its urban planning and architecture to political institutions, religion, art, and culture), present-day Xi’an, during the Tang dynasty, it has been on my bucket list. I adore Kyoto.🤞🏻

As someone who’s half Chinese, being in Kyoto feels like traveling back in time to ancient China. （794AD)🫶🏻

Himeji was the furthest point of our japan road trip, it was one of the highlights of the tour and Tommy’s dream. Since he was a kid, he kept building Himeji castle in Minecraft.🗾
