Bali Part 3: Exploring Ubud, Nusa Penida, Sanur, Seminyak

- A day trip to Ulun Danu Beratan Water Temple (tried the famous Luwak coffee ☕️), Jatiluwih Rice Terrace 🌾 (a UNESCO heritage site, it was raining but it was so mood), and Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary 🐒 🐵 (we’ve seen things that we can’t unsee 🙈). Our driver and guide @diimasanggara @baliperfecttrip was awesome!

- A day trip to Nusa Penida island including snorkeling 🌊 🤿 (the sea was turbulent and mad!) and Kelingking viewpoint + a full body massage in Sanur 💆‍♂️ 💆‍♀️

-A chill day at the beach 🏖️ + a feast lunch at Warung Nia 🥘 🍲 (we had the pleasure of being served by @nandamhrtini) + our lovely hotel pool in Seminyak 🏊 (Bintang!)

Bali Highlights 2: Mt. Batur Sunrise Hike 🗻 🌄+ Hot Spring ⛲️

I joined forces with my sister @atchimak and “BD” @btraang on a tough, early sunrise hike up Mt. Batur, an active volcano overlooking the beautiful caldera Batur Lake. We were accompanied by 2 Singaporean youngsters @c3dric_leong and @antonpeen (who I would casually run into in Tokyo) looking for big hills to climb outside of their home country. We were guided by our fun and photography-creative guide @guswpc01, a local Balinese working with @getyourguide to make sure we’re safe on the mountain full of hot spots and monkeys. Thanks Agus for some of these awesome shots!

Although we could not exactly see the Sun, we still had a great time doing the hike and taking in the most breathtaking view at the peak. We could see the shadow of Mount Rinjani, the second highest volcano in Indonesia located in another island called Lombok (perhaps my next destination?).

Our guide made us eggs and banana sandwiches with the mountain’s geothermal energy. A group of monkeys came begging for food. We had to give into them in exchange for some photo ops.

We ended the strenuous hike with a hot spring near the mountain which was super relaxing!
