Fall bird migration is upon us - did you know 275,700 birds crossed over Sacramento just last night? If you’ve ever felt curious about the birds that call our city home (even if just temporarily), we’ve got an event for you! We’re kicking things off at the brewery on Sunday, October 25 at 10:30 AM, before taking a short stroll to Capitol Park to spot and learn about the local birds. After soaking in the sights (and sounds) of our feathered friends, we’ll head back to the brewery to enjoy some well-earned beers. This is free & all ages welcome (there is an about 1.5 mile walk). Dogs are welcome - please ensure they are well-behaved and don’t disrupt the birds. Bring your binoculars & birding enthusiasm & we’ll see you at the brewery! Come learn American-style mahjong or play a few games with fellow mahjong fans here in the tap room! If you’ve never touched a tile before - this afternoon is beginner & new player friendly. We’ll have an expert (Holly) on hand to teach the basics and help out as questions come up. If you already know the game, join in and enjoy some friendly rounds. We’ll have three tables set up for four players each, so there’s room for 12 people to play at a time. How it works: There’s no registration. Just show up! Seats are first come, first served, and the first 12 people to arrive will get a spot at the tables. If more than 12 people come, no worries. Folks can rotate in as seats open up, so everyone gets a chance to play. Hungry? @bahaykubofoodtruck will be on site, so you can grab a bite while you play or wait for your turn. Thirsty? Is it Fall? It finally feels like it and that means it’s prime beer time! Great beer, excellent weather & lots of other perks to hangin’ out over here. This is what’s up this week: Wednesday we are runnin’ with our @leftrightleftrun club. We are going down to the Rose Garden, where the blooms are poppin’ off. We take off from here at 6:30 pm (ish). @_pariscrepes_ will be here with a full menu of sweet and savory crepes. At 7, we’ve got @djbingo with Nick - we play four rounds and there are prizes in each round! On Thursday, @sweetmother101 is here serving up a full menu of eats! We have our weekly bar trivia with @thinktankdtrivia_sac at 6:30 pm. The game has 30 questions and topics cover a wide variety of subjects - its general knowledge- plus puzzles and music. All you have to do is assemble a team & come compete! Friday, @bahaykubofoodtruck are stopping thru with food options. We will be playing music trivia with @tune.platoon at 630 pm. Four rounds, various categories - it’s the ULTIMATE music knowledge test and a true challenge for music lovers! On Saturday, we’ve got food with @bahaykubofoodtruck starting at 2 pm. It’s arguably the best time of year for sports - we’ll have the college football & the playoff baseball (if needed) on the TVs. @sunnytuesday_ is back with a Beginner Watercolor lesson. This month, we’re painting ghosts. Check the link in our bio, or hers, to sign up for this fun workshop. Sunday, we’ll have football on the TVs! @rachelspetportraits is here with a PET portrait painting session. Sign up using the link in her bio - there are only a couple spots left! @slicemamapizza will be here with pizza at 2 pm. It’s our game night- we’ve moved things around for the ultimate gaming space! You’re probably going to want one of these beer steins! For this year’s Oktoberfest commemorative glassware, we leaned into German folk art & our love for California (quail & poppies). @commuterind thoughtfully designed what we think is one of our fave mugs ever. They’ve got an 18 oz capacity and are ceramic with a handle. We’ll have them for sale starting right at noon on Saturday, Sept 19. The birds have been around, but now the temps are better for us to go see them so we are back with our bird-watchin’ adventure right in the neighborhood. This is FREE & will kick off at At Ease Brewing Co. on Sunday, September 13 at 10:30 AM, (we’ll open early just for this event). Can’t join us for our regular Wednesday game of @djbingo? You’re in luck- we are having a second game on Saturday this week! Here’s how it works: 1. We’ll play a song clip 2. You’ll use your knowledge of music to match the tune to your bingo card. 3. When you complete the designated sequence, you yell DJ BINGO! This is a low stakes game - it’s not overly competitive or difficult and you can totally drink and chat while you play. It’s fun as a group activity or you can play solo.
