During the Club Dérive project week in Genk, we created a chill spot within our scenography. Using layers of translucent fabric, light, and texture, we shaped a soft, dreamlike space where visitors could escape the surrounding chaos. The installation invites rest, connection, and reflection within a temporary, almost floating environment. by @atelier_e21

[VITRINE X CHAISE DE GARDE]

- We were commissioned by the Design Museum in Ghent to design the scenography and interior of their display case, DING, based on a selected piece of furniture. I chose the Chaise de Garde by Jean Chapuis and explored the concept of “wear and tear” as a central theme in my scenography. The design reveals the different layers of deterioration, gradually exposing the skeletal structure of the chair. This approach highlights the passage of time and the intrinsic beauty of material aging, offering visitors a deeper perspective on the object’s history and construction. by @atelier_e21

-This lighting piece is an exploration of materiality, texture, and illumination. The design consists of a clear plexiglass frame, within which a structured fabric element is suspended. The fabric, originally pleated, has been hardened using a polymer-based treatment, allowing it to maintain its sculptural form while interacting with light in a dynamic way.

-Integrated LED strips beneath the fabric create a warm, diffused glow that enhances the organic folds and subtle variations in opacity. The interplay between light and shadow adds depth, giving the piece an almost ethereal quality. By combining rigid and flexible elements, the lamp achieves a balance between structure and fluidity, making it both an artistic statement and a functional object.
