💛A realistic papaya painting and another step in my rainbow orchard series, created for Amsterdam pride.

This 18-piece collection explores the colors and meanings of the pride flag through realistic fruit paintings. Today’s piece continues the yellow chapter inspired by sunlight. It’s a reminder of warmth, optimism and the little moments that brighten our days.

All I see these days are paintings of beautiful lemons, but when I attempted to paint one, it was absolutely ugly.

What if sunlight could be captured in a single fruit?

Today is Painting 7 of my 18-piece fruit painting series “RAINBOW ORCHARD” inspired by the colours and meanings of the Pride flag.

The yellow stripe of the Pride flag represents sunlight

For the first painting in this chapter, I chose a mango.

To me, a mango is the taste of warm afternoons, long summers, and moments that stay with us long after they’re gone.

Like sunlight, it has a way of brightening even the simplest moments.

Sometimes, all we need is a little light to remind us what’s possible.

This is the beginning of the yellow chapter. 💛

The day I had a persimmon for the first time, it instantly became my favourite fruit.

So I saved the best for last to close the orange chapter of my RAINBOW ORCHARD that I’m painting for Amsterdam Pride.

A year ago, I met someone who chose a different path.
While most of us were caught up in deadlines, meetings, and corporate stress, my friend Sandra decided to follow her passion and turn her creativity into a career. Today, she’s living in Europe and creating beautiful artwork that reflects her talent, dedication, and love for art.

Honestly, there’s a little bit of admiration (and maybe a little jealousy 😄) when we see someone brave enough to chase their dreams and make it work.

Can’t have an orange chapter without painting an orange 🙈🧡🍊

This is the second painting in the orange chapter of my rainbow orchard series. An 18 piece collection of fruit paintings inspired but the colors and meanings of the pride flag, crafted for Amsterdam pride.

Every painting in this series explores a different meaning behind the stripes of the pride flag. This is a reminder that healing isn’t something we always have to carry on our own. It can grow through connection, kindness and the people who choose to stand beside us.

Only one more painting remains before the orange chapter is complete.

🧡 The orange chapter begins 🧡

For this painting, I chose an apricot, the forts of the three fruits inspired by the orange stripe of the pride flag. Throughout this chapter; I’m exploring the idea of healing through nature; using fruit as a way to tell stories that go beyond what’s on the canvas

This is the fourth painting in my 18 piece rainbow orchard collection created for Amsterdam pride. Every Colton of the pride flag will be represented by three different fruits; each carrying it’s own meaning.

The most satisfying part of the process…. 🤌🏻

Peeling back the tape to reveal the clean edges is the perfect way to end a paint session.

I wanted to complete as many paintings as I could today. But that led to me getting impatient and not doing a great job.
I just wasn’t happy with how this painting turned out. I added a sliced lemon to the bottom hoping that might make it better, but that looked unnatural.

So my options were to keep it as it is. Or start from the beginning. You know what i chose. 😅
