Funny story ~ I assumed that because I’ve never smoked, we’d never have this experience. And don’t get me wrong, we’ve all experimented growing up, but I’ve consistently had a negative experience with it, so I laid that curiosity to rest pretty early on. But, I digress. We live in Austin, Texas and we aren’t strangers to this popping up on occasion in public spaces.
.
We went to bed normally last night and I woke up this morning to Athena having peed herself, overheated, unable to lift her head and unable to walk in a straight line or stand without collapsing. I became very emotional and brought her to the vet prepared for the worst. I didn’t know if it was connected to her breed or if she experienced a seizure in the night or it was neurological, but she’s only 6 years old and healthy. After examination and testing, it’s confirmed, someone partied a little hard last night and scared her mother to death. I am relieved that it was not something more serious and I’ll just be monitoring her the rest of the day. taken in Westlake Animal Hospital by @athena_thegsdog

Taking it easy the next two weeks to heal up from a doggo bite. Some meds and limited play time but extra cuddles with mom. ❤️‍🩹 by @athena_thegsdog
