You’re going to need to zoom in on this set… 👀Sam: “I’ve found an idea for my nails…”Me: “Go on then…”Sam then shows me a parrot, cherries, palm trees and an entire tropical beach 😂The lovely thing is that she has complete faith in me to make it happen. Meanwhile, I’m quietly working out how I’m going to fit a blue-and-gold parrot onto one fingernail without forgetting to breathe.These are all Sam’s own natural nails with a Magpie Beauty builder gel overlay. Sandra is back... and as always she brought me a challenge! 😂Although I have a little confession... I've actually painted this design before, so there was a lot less panicking and a lot more enjoying it this time! 🦒🌅🐘These are builder gel overlays on Sandra's natural nails, and we even had to repair two broken nails before creating the design. Looking at them now, I don't think you'd ever guess which two they were! That's one of the things I love about builder gel – it's not just about adding strength, it's about giving us the chance to restore a nail so everything looks seamless again.A little tip for my clients... if you've got nail art in mind, don't worry if you can't explain it perfectly. Send me inspiration photos! Even if it's a colour palette, a holiday photo or a Pinterest screenshot, it gives me a starting point to create something you'll love.And for my fellow nail techs... this is your reminder to keep photos of every design you create. You never know when a client will ask for something similar months (or even years) later. I know I say it a lot... but builder gel doesn't have to be about growing tiny little nails into long nails. Sometimes it's about taking a gorgeous natural nail and making sure it stays gorgeous. 🥹💕These are my client's own natural nails with a builder gel overlay. No extensions, no tips... just her nails.Honestly, look at those nail beds! 😍 They're naturally long and elegant, which means even a simple design looks so pretty. This time we went for soft summer shades with one matte polka dot nail because not every set has to shout to be noticed.I absolutely love doing nails like these because they prove that builder gel isn't there to change your nails... it's there to protect what you've already got. It gives them that extra strength so they're less likely to snap, split or peel, meaning you get to enjoy your own natural nails for longer.I know people often think builder gel is only for people with weak nails, but that's really not the case. Some of my clients have naturally beautiful nails and simply want to keep them looking this way.I don't know about you, but there's just something about a fresh set of natural nails that makes me feel like I've got my life together. 😂💕P.s Gels and Builder @magpie_beauty. Can we just have a little chat about this weather... 🥵I was editing these photos earlier and it made me laugh because they were done before the heatwave hit. Fast forward to this week and I've been wondering whether I should be doing nails in a swimming costume instead. 😂I know some of you absolutely love this weather, but I think I've reached my limit now! Although I will say... I'd still choose summer over winter every single time.Anyway... enough about me. Are you loving this heat or are you ready for it to cool down a bit? A little throwback to Friday's set because these were too pretty not to have a spot on the grid 💛🌿My client brought in some gorgeous inspiration from @__abigails_nails__ and asked for something soft, delicate and floral. I absolutely loved creating these tiny hand-painted pansies on a sheer nude base.Sometimes it's the subtle sets that end up being my favourites. They're elegant, wearable and still have enough detail to make you stop and look twice.For this set I used Hypo Builder from @hwnailsystems which has been brilliant for this client. She's struggled with reactions to products used previously, and this system works beautifully for her while still giving strength, durability and a lovely natural finish.I think these little flowers are giving cottage garden, spring mornings and cups of tea in the sunshine 🌿💛What do we think... cute and delicate, or are you more of a bold nail art kind of girl? 👇 by @athevabeauty
