“A trip to the Texas Hill Country inspired the concept behind Legends, Albertine Company’s contribution to the Fall 2025 Vesta Home Show. City Hill Design principal designer Amy Mobley says she was so taken with the region’s look and feel, she wanted to translate it into a Mid South showplace.

She and her sister/business partner Katie Norrid were thrilled to get the chance to do just that as part of the annual home show sponsored by the West Tennessee Home Builders Association. The design duo had recently completed a project with Albertine and local architecture powerhouse LRK, so when Philip Albertine offered the opportunity to team up again on the show home, it felt right. ‘We all work really well together. And to get architects of that caliber, and a super custom builder, we were all in,’ says Norrid. ‘We knew that they would only put their best foot forward.’

That best effort paid off. Legends won the People’s Choice, Best Interiors, Best Architecture and Best First Impression awards for the show, located in Collierville’s Hidden Creek development. The designers knew the home’s laid-back elegance was a hit with show goers even before the top honors were announced. Says Norrid, ‘A lot of times people would start [the Vesta tour] with us, and they’d come back and end with us, as well, walking through it twice.’”

“Today’s travelers visit some destinations for the scenery, others for the history, and some simply to say they’ve been there. Then there are places where every meal becomes a memory, every glass of wine tells a story, and every stroll down a cobblestone street feels like stepping into another era. Northern Italy and France offer exactly that, a journey where exceptional cuisine, celebrated wines and timeless beauty come together.

For vacationers who believe the best way to discover a destination is through its flavors, a culinary journey through Milan, Turin, Lyon and Paris blends Michelin-starred dining, vineyard tastings, charming cafes and iconic landmarks into one unforgettable adventure.”

“Garland and Price Hays know a thing or two about houses. As a homebuilder, Price has constructed and renovated countless residences, including several for his own family over the years. It’s no wonder, then, that they recognized ‘good bones’ in this Kirby Woods house when a friend showed it to them in 2023.

It’s also not surprising that they bought the home and moved in in November of that year with plans to refurbish it over time. The timeline changed drastically, however, when snow and ice blanketed the Mid South only three months later. ‘The pipes froze and burst and flooded the whole house,’ Garland recalls. ‘We had to move out for almost a year. It was not fun.’

Not fun, indeed, but a blessing in disguise. Having to make repairs presented a unique opportunity to do more, accentuating the features that had drawn the couple to the house originally while completely revamping other areas.”

“Beyond merely updating colors and finishes, this kitchen renovation involved creating character. Says designer Emily Chastain, ‘My top priority for this project was to create architecture where there wasn’t any.’ Keeping in mind her client’s love for French style and New Orleans, Chastain reimagined the space into the perfect combination of beauty and practicality.”

“The couple had known for a while that they’d eventually move to accommodate the needs of their growing family, but Christine was still reluctant when the time came to look for a new place. Until she saw this one….

It’s no wonder she changed her mind. Set back from the road on a multi-acre lot, the white brick French Provincial is not only beautiful on the outside, it features a light-filled interior with a casually traditional style, plenty of room, and was in mint condition. Not to mention the exterior features that originally drew Hunter’s attention. The idyllic setting belies the fact that the home is located on a thoroughfare in the Memphis suburb. Just outside the back door, an inviting covered patio leads to a pool, then past a grove of trees to a pond; a tranquil scene worthy of a painting.”

“Custom-built homes almost always reflect the personalities and desires of their owners; but the Midtown Memphis home of Betsy and Jason Hood seems to personify purpose inside and out.

The Hoods’ previous home on Court Avenue was an old Tudor house nearing her 100th birthday. While she was bursting with bungalow charm, the home had begun to prove challenging, with continuous renovations and a complicated floorplan.

‘The home was getting a lot older and so were we, and we had already done a lot of work on it, but we felt like we had maxed out what we were willing to do without sacrificing her historical integrity,’ said Betsy. ‘We love old homes and historical architecture, but we were ready for bigger closets and bathrooms, and smaller home projects.’

In 2022, the Hoods began a two-year construction process on their now beloved home in a distinguished Memphis neighborhood. To kick off the project, architect Brad Shapiro spent time with the Hoods in their home, engaging in thoughtful discussion and observation to understand how they lived in their house, what worked and what didn’t. And then Shapiro spent a few hours just walking the lot for the build, familiarizing himself with the space and angles. The couple engaged interior designer Anna Lattimore and contractor Tim DiSalvo who were also involved from the design phase so that the architecture and design considerations were married into the construction seamlessly.”

“Train travel, a 200-year-old tradition, is experiencing a resurgence, becoming more popular than ever today. From small-town charm to destinations across the globe, today’s travelers are rediscovering something beautifully simple: sometimes the most memorable part of a journey isn’t the destination, it’s how you get there.

Train travel has long held a special place in the hearts of wanderers. There’s something undeniably captivating about settling into a comfortable seat as the world unfolds beyond your window, watching the rolling countryside, dramatic mountain ranges, and storybook villages appearing as if on cue. Unlike air travel, which often feels hurried and disconnected, traveling by train invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly experience every mile.

The gentle rhythm of the rails, the sweeping panoramic views, and the freedom to move about transform travel into something far more meaningful. Whether it’s an elegant European escape, a scenic North American adventure, or a once-in-a-lifetime luxury journey, train travel offers an experience no other mode of transportation can replicate.”

“Some things just feel meant to be. That’s how the Smalleys felt when they found the home they wanted, on the street where they wanted to live. And to top it all off, they knew it was definitely kismet when they discovered it was the long-time family home of renowned local interior designer Anne Knox.

‘We were ready to beg, plead, do anything to get this house,’ said Ashley Smalley, who also owns Collierville-based interior design firm The Feathered Nest. ‘We wrote a letter, the neighbors (who were also some of our best friends) wrote letters, and, in the end, it paid off. I think Anne knew just as confidently as we did that this was meant to be our home.’”

“A Union City, TN, couple wanted a new home; they just didn’t want it to seem brand new. Memphis interior designer Lindsey Black helped them achieve that goal. Says the homeowner, ‘A lot of people comment that it looks like we’ve been living here for years.’ Black filled her clients’ newly constructed house with mostly new furnishings combined with family treasures and a sprinkling of vintage and antique finds to create a cohesive look that’s a fresh take on traditional.

The homeowner heard about Black through friends who live in Memphis. Once she started following the Instagram account of Black’s self-named design firm, she knew the two would be a fit. ‘I immediately loved everything she did,’ she recalls. She brought Black on board early in the construction phase and other than some guidelines about her general preferences, gave the designer free rein. ‘I told her we didn’t want anything too modern. We’re pretty traditional. We trusted her as a professional and wanted to let her do her thing.’”

“For many families, a Disney vacation is a rite of passage. In 2026, Disney is no longer simply about character meet-and-greets or nostalgic attractions. It has evolved into something deeper—more immersive, more elevated and beautifully designed for every generation traveling together.

Today’s Disney experience blends storytelling with luxury, technology with ease, and high-energy adventure with meaningful togetherness. Whether exploring the parks of Walt Disney World or sailing aboard Disney Cruise Line, families are discovering the experience has been thoughtfully reimagined for grandparents, parents, children and even couples seeking different experiences.

This is the new Disney; layered, intentional and ideal for multi-generational travel.”
