We’re so grateful to have Hooper House featured in @afronews , with four of the 16 Black-owned businesses that call this place home highlighted in this beautiful story by @alanahasenteredthechat .

And while four of our neighbors are featured, this story is really a celebration of the whole house.

Yallll omgggg on Juneteenth was the opening of my installation P A V E M E N T! Some of you know my journey with this project has been long and exciting. But it’s finally here !

There are so many people I want to thank for this installation, first I want to thank @ayespaceforus and @thesolasystem for believing in my vision and helping me bring it to LIFE! I also want to thank @elleffpea , @jo_nanajian , @apoetnamednate , @amiradamani , @urbanhipsta @tifftionary @outerspace.gh for all of the installation and physical support. I want to also thank @alma_lewis_pgh and their Black Archive For research support. And I want to also thank @thesteelyard for allowing me to try out different firings :) thank you @malcolmjenkins for planting seeds 📕 . everyone who has contributed to this project has been amazing! And finally Thank you @byaib for these amazing photos! 🩷

It really takes village :)

Songs of Nostalgia is a portrait of a Sunday you remember in your whole body. A living room. Vinyls spread throughout the floor. Someone beside you who makes Lauryn Hill feel even more true. D’Angelo on the record player. India Arie somewhere in the stack. Nowhere to be and no desire to be anywhere else.

That is the feeling PACK LIGHT is closing on. And it could not be more perfect.
