What does curiosity feel like in your body? Curiosidad is a song about that sweet electric curiosity that lights up in us when we long to know someone. To witness them up close, and get to know who they are when they allow themselves to exhale.

Much love to @adrivergaramerino who helped me bring this duet to life: while the first two verses are two people singing to each other, in the third verse the voices come together and we both sing to ourselves: because intimacy requires us to let our guard down and allow ourselves to be seen, because to love someone is also to witness the strength of your own love and all that it makes possible.

Endless gratitude to @mx.matias, who helped me take this song from a voice-note that poured out of me one day into a sweet bolerito, you can hear them on bass and percussion! And thank you to @kneecohanton who found the perfect chords and melodies to color in each part of the song with their piano, and gave us the most beautiful piano solo that sounds like the butterflies you feel when you feel that curiosidad.

TRACK 1: Con Dulzura starts with a bath of breath and melody 🌊 A sonic apapacho from @hooploopsoup. Because that is what this song aims to be: a shower of sweetness to help wash away the things we need to release.

My voice comes in with a series of affirmations and reminders I often need to hear: “Yo me hablo suavecito para poder escuchar” It is an affirmation and also a challenge: can I speak to myself with kindness? let my self criticisms go so that I can listen to the world around me?

Then @manifiesto_music comes in with his vibrant guitar lines, a thumping bass, and a cumbia rhythm played on traditional afro-colombian instruments such as the llamador, tambor alegre, and guacharaca. I wanted this song to make you want to melt and also want to get up and dance, because what a better way to practice self-love than to dance some Cumbia in your room.

My favorite part of the song are Lee and Sebas’ flute and guitar solos: moments that to me embody all of the joy that becomes possible when we are able to be sweet to ourselves.

The song ends with a meditation on the things that we might hear when we are able to quiet the voices in our heads. We might hear:
a song in the compost
A whisper at the altar
The sound of a seed
Breaking open
Towards life.

March 6th!! Somos Medicina goes live on all platforms ✨

This album is a love letter to my friends: the queers who love their friends and community fiercely, to the elders, the kiddos, the gardens and seeds and compost piles and plant beings who have shared their medicine with me, and helped me find me own.

My biggest hope is that this music can bring you some breath, some sweetness, some grounding and affirmation.

Thank you to @atiemposemilla for crafting this video that so beautifully captures the world and the intention of this album. And thank you to all my friends who joined us on this sweet summer afternoon 💗

odette verónica gonzález-santiago (ella/nosotres) es tejedora de papel. bajo su mirada sensible rasga y corta, pega y escucha el llamado de la temporada. su proyecto @nutriciondetemporada busca generar curiosidad sobre los alimentos diversos y nutricionalmente ricos que crecen por temporada en la archipiélaga, a pesar del desplazamiento–que más afecta a comunidades racializadas–y la falta de condiciones dignas para trabajar la tierra.

su acercamiento al collage es desde la pausa tangible a través de medios mixtos. odette juega con la poesía, los colores e imágenes, con el fin de que permee en la memoria el alimento producido localmente. a través de su arte nos recuerda que los enteros están compuestos de muchas partes y que son procesos vivos.

no es usual hacer collages para compartir información nutricional, pero @huertosemilla y la Escuelita Semillera son espacios donde se practica la imaginación y odette es semilla desde hace 12 años. “si vamos a enseñar, ¿qué método nos vamos a inventar para que se entienda, que sea divertido y que se pueda multiplicar y compartir con otras personas? ¿cómo lo podemos disfrutar y cómo se nos puede quedar esta información?”, comparte odette algunas de las pregs que las semillas se hacen mientras se diseña el currículo de Escuelita Semillera y que hacen eco en su propio trabajo artístico con el collage.

su práctica está intrínsecamente relacionada con la huerta y la Escuelita Semillera por los principios de educación popular, la soberanía alimentaria, lo colectivo de los procesos detrás del alimento y el juego como parte del trabajo.

“cabuyear no sólo es herramienta, es también lenguaje que nos permite desenredar pensamientos, sanar memorias y activar vínculos colectivos" —@la.cabuyera para @burnaway x @cccadi

Gabriela “Gaby Cabuya” Sánchez Deniza (ella/elle) es artista interdisciplinaria y artesana de la cabuya, palabra taína para soga. forma parte de @huertosemilla desde 2022 y fue une de les facilitadores de Escuelita Semillera 2025. su proyecto, La Cabuyera, se enfoca en recuperar y compartir tradiciones textiles de borikén y el karibe a través de talleres, encuentros y creaciones colectivas. aprendió del tejido con fibras junto al artista Jorge González Santos (@jigs_pr), cuya práctica rescata la cultura material borikua para tender un puente honrando las formas indígenas y modernas de crear y vivir. Gaby Cabuya comenzó explorando con fibras de enea (Typha domingensis) y guineo, que ahora cosecha en huerto semilla. ese aprendizaje y frente al poco acceso a información sobre fibras locales, le llevó a crear un rico archivo botánico caribeñe de fibras naturales que se pueden cabuyear. su práctica es espiritual y política: para les artistas tejer es un acto de memoria, resistencia y sanación.

🤲🏼las semillas son creación en acción🤲🏼

si la apuesta de los estados gen0cidas es empujarnos a la precariedad y matarnos, nuestrx insistencia es siempre al cuidado y a la vida. a accionar la esperanza. a los apoyos mutuos. a sembrar. a compostar la violencia que nos intentan convencer es la que hay. a la comunidad. a la vida digna. a intentar e intentar todas las veces que sea necesario. así nace la idea de este ensayo; de ponerle palabras y retratos a quienes llevan 15 años creciendo desde abajo como semilla. siendo idea viva (como dice odechi) y haciéndole frente a la colonia. a la escuelita semillera que autogestionan pa recordarnos a volver a poner las manos en la tierra y cuidarnos en el proceso. a recordarnos que nuestrx legado es comer bien y rico y que jugar puede ser parte del proceso. que pa eso hay que mirar(nos) y atender la herida colonial de años con palas y peste y azada y semilla y corazón y arte y mucha pero mucha compasión, firmeza e insistencia. que no es un proceso romántico. que se practica, se descansa, se erra y (des)aprende, se comparte, se colabora y afirma con tantxs otrxs proyectos en la archipiélaga que tambn insisten en la vida digna y la jayaera que merecemos en boriké, el karibe y la munda entera.

this saturday, 1/nov we gather in community to honor Ancestors, Cempazúchitl and fundraise for Palestinian and Sudanese farmers. we are joining Seeds of Solidarity’s call for community gardens to substantially raise funds that will directly support farmers in Sudan and Palestine: @sudaneseresistancefront @sudansolidaritycollective @apnorg @guelph4palestine 🌹

come eat delicious food, dye your own bandana with plant-elder cempazúchitl and @littletendrils , and move with DJ @diogene.wav music alchemy! share a poem, song, word for our open mic!
