Although it's been decades since Bombay has been rechristened as Mumbai, and everything is changing every minute here, there are some things that are still quintessentially 'Bombay Things To Do' and still around, alive and kicking.

One of them is having Bun Maska Chai At an Irani Cafe. Irani cafes were established by Persian immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They are iconic, historic, and increasingly rare culinary institutions in India—particularly Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad. These cafes introduced unique Parsi and Iranian culinary items like bun maska, mawa cakes, brun (hard crust bread) and, of course, the distinctive sweet Irani chai, which is steeped in traditional recipes. Historically acting as social levelers, they served everyone from laborers to intellectuals and students, providing a space for conversation, reading, and, in earlier times, even a separate space for families.
