The French-Canadian duo, Angine De Poitrine, touched down in Richmond, Virginia, for the very first time last night at Iron Blossom Festival (@ironblossomrva).

Many fans were met with the opportunity to see them up close following increased demand and virality surrounding their KEXP studio video, which is currently sitting at 19 million views.

This performance certainly answered questions for many, while opening up a whole host of others. Their microtonality-driven math rock sound and boisterous physical appearance on stage offered a peek into what makes this duo so difficult to pin down, leaving audiences unable to look away.

After years of touring with Mo Lowda & The Humble, Jordan Caiola has continued to carve out space for his solo work, rooted in the folk songwriting he’s always considered his wheelhouse. For Times of Chaos, released in August, is his most stripped-down record yet, and maybe his most affecting.

Atlantic Soundwave had the opportunity to catch up with Chance The Rapper again as he brought his Coloring Book 10 Year Anniversary Tour to @redhatamphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Saturday, celebrating a decade of the mixtape that, in his words, “changed everything.”

With the same carefree attitude and clever lyricism that made Coloring Book so special, Chance delivered a high-energy set fueled by his signature freestyle spirit. Ten years and plenty of life changes later, that energy remains infectious.

The night carried extra meaning as Chance reflected on his special connection to the Carolinas, including the fact that he played this very venue on the original Coloring Book tour 10 years ago. His daughters, Kensli and Marli, were also in attendance to celebrate Marli’s birthday.

Ethan Regan’s YOUNG REGAN is the kind of record that feels easy to settle into.

Some folk, a little Americana, and unexpected turns with plenty of honest songwriting about growing up and figuring things out along the way.

From “spring cleaning” to “radio earth to sun god,” there’s a lot to like here and plenty that keeps things interesting.

The Black Keys brought their blues-rock sound to Richmond for a summer night at Allianz Amphitheater.

For longtime fans, it was a chance to finally see a band with a catalog that has been part of the soundtrack for more than a decade. The setting was nearly perfect, but the performance offered a few more mixed moments than expected.
Our latest review breaks down the good, the bad, and everything in between from the night.

@fifthfloorofficial made their Richmond debut at Richmond Music Hall last Saturday, and it was nothing short of electric.

The Greensboro-based pop/rock outfit has been steadily gaining momentum online, and that translated to a packed room in RVA. With plenty of crowd interaction, they pulled everyone in—turning even casual listeners into fans with their singable originals and a couple covers along the way.

The eclectic alternative rock ensemble, @wilco, visited Virginia Beach last night at The Dome, delivering a set that showcased their more than three decades of musicianship and songwriting.

Few bands bridge Americana and indie rock stylings as effortless as Wilco, whose catalog ranges from quiet folk ballads to sprawling, experimental rock.
