What a phenomenal hoop session… 🌬️🌊
Dancing in the wind with the ocean in front of me — I didn’t stop until I literally had to drop to the ground from exhaustion 😂

I’ve been using my favorite hoop size forever because I love it. Every move usually flows effortlessly, like second nature.
But this time… I changed it by 5 cm to try out something new.

And yes — at first, it felt like a real adjustment.
Every trick that normally comes so easily suddenly felt different.

But then something shifted.

Leaning into that challenge, adapting, finding control again — and doing it in harmony with the wind… was unreal.
The same wind that would usually throw me off became part of the dance.

At some point, it felt like I wasn’t just moving the hoop anymore —
I felt completely in sync with it… and with the wind around me.

And something else surprised me too…
Even the different color and look of the hoop made me feel different.
It sounds strange, but it genuinely felt like I stepped into a new version of myself — a different energy, a different personality while dancing.

Like I wasn’t just learning something new…
I was meeting a new part of my hooping.

5 cm might sound small.
But in hooping, it can change so much (even how my favourite size hoops feel now).

This isn’t about what’s better — it’s about allowing yourself to experience something new.
And wow… I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much.

Our Aotearoa chapter is slowly coming to an end. I am so grateful we are getting to spend our last few weeks seeing friends all over Te Ika-a-Māui (North Island). We are currently exploring Te Tairāwhiti with all its rugged beaches and wild greenery.

In local lore they say this is where the spirits depart on their journey back to their homelands. Northland has been an absolutely beautiful part of our experience in Aotearoa and I am glad we spent some time here.

Here's a PSA for all my travelling hoopers. Give your hoops some freedom from their hoop bag every once in a while. Or be like me and hoop with an oval.

I hope everyone's been well. Our time here is slowly coming to a close. We are selling our lovely little home on wheels (so if you know someone who knows someone looking for one, hit me up), seeing some friends before leaving and I often find myself reminiscing on all the beautiful experiences and humans we have met here. Aotearoa is truly a special place and I am so very grateful for all the friendships formed here.

Extremely privileged to create my own rhythm, extremely privileged to be expressing myself in these ways.

Big parts of society are currently going through huge ruptures. This big messed up game they play has real life consequences for too many. An important time for everyone to keep creating, meditate in your own ways if you can. Which doesn't mean being blind to the realities, it simply means transmuting what you feel into something that can bring joy into your own and other people's lives and calms the nervous system.

Postcard for you from Mt Taranaki.
A postcard that consists of bean having to run after me with a badly stubbed toe, my big ass panty line, unbrushed hair, squinty eyes and a little smile. Because for a moment you might have forgotten that this is what it's all about.

And updates galore. We are moving North on Te Ika-a-Māui.
I am getting ready to bring my magic to @shipwreckednz in a little while. The creative concept is absolutely stunning and I am looking forward to taking a deeper dive into my own creativity through the vessel of the Treasure Island 🫧

I just did a massive skill dump on @theflowguide for both hoop and silk fans. We are moving into some more tech, some solid foundations and some essential movement theory. If you are looking for an always expanding pool of resources in the form of easily-digestible movement and combo tutorials for either hoop or silk fans (or both) feel free to have a look at what I've been building for the past fourteen months. We are currently sitting at 128 beautiful tutorials in which I am pouring my knowledge into a tiny tea cup, ready for you to guzzle up. I kept it in this format as I am planning to keep it running for a long time, rather than just offering a course that has a final lesson.

And I am taking you on a journey through all the lands over at @atlasofflow - connecting the world, collecting the most beautiful flow spots and bringing all the flow friends just a little closer to each other by sharing experiences. If you have anything to contribute, please feel free to collaborate with the account. Any favourite, unusual or otherwise special places to you will be placed in the Atlas of Flow.

As much as life is changing for us all the time, I am happy to have these projects to pour my creative energy into and share something beautiful with others. Makes me feel alive 🌬️🤍

Some insights into what it's like to live my life.
There's travelling and then there's that thing I've been doing ever since I was nineteen. I am thirty-three now and I have spent the better time of the last fourteen years living an extremely transient life. I accidentally migrated to Australia in 2012, a trip that was meant to last year. I bought my first van and did a half lap of the country over the coming year. I came back, continued life on the other side of the planet. Assimilated to a degree, realised how German I was after all with every passing year. Spent years living on wheels or in tiny dwellings, I grew up around travellers and odd folk.

I didn't see what I was doing as 'travelling' anymore. Others see it that way, but for me it didn't feel like that. And not in some 'i'm from everywhere' sort of way or trying to deny my roots, but simply in a way that recognises that once you have integrated certain habits or ways of living in your life so deeply, that it's just not that anymore. When I go, I usually don't go 'on holidays' or situate myself to stay for a few days, sightsee and then leave. It's so much more deep than that. I have missed most sightseeing spots on my way in favour of meeting good people, finding little nooks that I liked. Wander the streets aimlessly, get caught in the rain. Spend hours crafting and enjoying my surroundings because there was never a schedule to adhere to.

If I want travel advice? Not really. Not because I don't trust people's judgement with what's best for them but because I trust my own judgement with what's best for me. Sure, it's not easy or comfortable to always have to be making decisions on a daily basis. But I get to have that freedom to have to make those choices over and over again. And even though I am slowly yearning for the stability of one place and the close proximity to my people, I know that I will be able to handle whatever that kind of life will throw at me after having lived and experiences what I have so far. Recognising 'the game' of having to be a citizen and recognising what it means to be human.

Yesterday I had something like a blind date with @talltinatwirls & @jasmin_circus 🎪 luckily, my experience was confirmed that it’s almost always a good match with other hoopies. ♥️ Despite the gray skies and occasional rain, it was a really nice day with the two of them – and the best part is: The convention hasn’t even started yet.
