On one of my hunts for insects, I came upon a European Hornet that was really struggling to fly.

While trying to get a shot of it, it ended up on my diffuser and decided to rest there. I took the opportunity to bring it inside and see if I couldn’t give it a second chance.

Miraculously, 24 hours of rest and all the honey it could eat and it was good to go, graciously posing for some stacks before taking off.

Any guesses as to what this is? (Swipe left for the reveal.)

I have to admit, I was actually trying to photograph a spider when I turned to my right and saw this butterfly delicately laying her eggs under a leaf. But it’s something that I really love about macro photography—witnessing unique and special moments of life.
