A wedding look inspired by two beautiful traditions🤍

For the bride, I paired a white corset top with a traditional Lakher/Mara Poh also known as Puan, called ‘Chhihna hno’. I wanted the corset to give the ensemble a more modern feel, while the Puan/Poh keeps the connection to the traditional wear. I added a white dupatta as veil, maang tikka, choker and bangles to bring in the Indian bridal elements.

For the groom, I used a sherwani for the base of the look, paired with layered pearl necklaces inspired by Indian groom styling. I then used a traditional Lakher shawl, called ‘Chyna’, draping it like an Indian wedding style to bring the two styles together.

The idea was to bring two different traditions into one wedding look, without letting either one disappear.
