It’s your day to celebrate, and somehow I’ve been trusted with the responsibility of making it a little brighter through music.

Growing up, I watched my friends become ridiculously good musicians. (thanks for babysitting me, thanks for still doing it).

Sometimes I feel like a girl who’s been handed the keys to the biggest library in the world eh. Every time I think I know something, another shelf appears.

And the thing I’m most grateful for —it’s space. Space to experiment. Space to play something completely wrong with confidence. Space to sound terrible on Tuesday and slightly less terrible by Friday.

I’m grateful for every person who let me ask the obvious questions, make embarrassing mistakes, get corrected, and try again without making me feel like I should quit.

I hope I can be that person for someone else.

Because I genuinely believe there’s room for everyone. God has given each of us more room to grow than we can even imagine.

Nobody earns the right to be encouraged only after they become “good enough.”

Everyone deserves to be seen. Everyone deserves to be taught, challenged, corrected, encouraged, and supported—regardless of age, experience, background, or where they are in their journey. Commit to your art!

Here’s to choosing growth over perfection. To community over competition. To support, compassion, respect, and love.
