Short Bio:
Trey is passionate about creating meaningful worship experiences that help people encounter God and develop a deeper relationship with Him. He has dedicated his life to equipping, encouraging, and developing worship leaders and musicians to understand their calling and live it out holistically, recognizing that worship is more than what happens on a platform; it is a lifestyle rooted in intimacy with God, character, and obedience.

🙌 What I love about worship: I love worship because it brings us face-to-face with the all-knowing God, where everything else fades away and nothing matters more than being in His presence. There’s also something powerful about hearing people from different walks of life come together, lifting their voices as one in praise to God. To me, it’s a beautiful glimpse of heaven on earth, where the sound of our worship reflects the sound of heaven.

God has entrusted you with unique gifts, abilities, and an assignment that requires your faithfulness, not someone else’s identity.

God doesn’t anoint copies; He empowers us to faithfully steward what He has entrusted to us.

There’s nothing wrong with learning from others, but inspiration should never come at the expense of your authenticity.

Be faithful to your assignment, not consumed with acceptance.

Nearly 2 in 3 worship leaders struggle with balancing ministry and personal life, according to research.

That means there’s a real possibility that someone in your worship department is struggling, and you may not even know it. They may show up every Sunday, serve with excellence, and fulfill their responsibilities while silently navigating challenges outside of church.

We have to do a better job of caring for the people behind the gifts.

It is neglectful to care more about the gift than the person carrying it. It is hurtful to constantly demand production without considering what someone may be navigating in their personal life.

Excellence, preparation, and accountability matter, but so do compassion, rest, and genuine care.

Galatians 6:2 reminds us to bear one another’s burdens.

We should never be so focused on building a successful worship ministry that we neglect the well-being of the people serving in it.

Care for the person, not just the gift. ❤️

19 years ago, we were two 21-year-olds in love with the idea of being in love 🥰, with no clue of what it would take to build a beautiful life together. ❤️

From NY to PA to GA, through countless seasons, melodies, and key changes, we’ve continued to find our rhythm.

We’ve evolved and loved so many versions of each other along the way. And through it all, God has been faithful.

In 2007 we made a covenant to keep choosing each other. And in 2026 we are Still becoming… still dreaming… still growing… still figuring it all out together. ❤️

Happy 19th Anniversary to my beautiful wife! ❤️ @darsingleton

19 years later, and we still say “I DO!” ❤️

Thank you for loving me, caring for me, praying for me, and standing beside me through every season of life. Thank you for being my safe place, where I can be my authentic self, flaws and all, without ever feeling like I have to be someone else.

One thing I’m grateful for is that I don’t have to pretend to be happy or manufacture a love that isn’t there. What we have is real. It’s not perfect, but it’s ours, and it’s been built on faith, grace, forgiveness, sacrifice, and the intentional decision to keep choosing each other through every season.

In a world where everyone has an opinion about what marriage should look like, I’m grateful that we’ve chosen to build ours on God’s design rather than the world’s expectations.

19 years later, I’d still choose you all over again!

Worship Leaders and Musicians:

Leadership isn’t about being indispensable. It’s about equipping others to lead.

Getting the task done matters, but developing the people around you matters just as much. If everything falls apart when you step away, you may be carrying the work, but you haven’t fully built the team.

Paul told Timothy to entrust what he had learned to faithful people who would be able to teach others also. — 2 Timothy 2:2 📖

Biblical leadership multiplies.

Don’t just build something that works when you’re present. Build people who can carry it when you’re absent.

Your responsibility affects more than just you.

When we wait until the last minute, it can unintentionally place pressure on someone else. They may have to rush, rearrange their schedule, or change their process to compensate for something we could have handled earlier.

This is not about perfection. It is about stewardship, consideration, and honor. Scripture reminds us, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” — 1 Corinthians 14:40

So the solution is simple: communicate early, prepare ahead, ask for help when you need it, and give people enough time to do their part well.

Healthy teams are built when we value one another’s time, respect each other’s process, and refuse to make our lack of preparation someone else’s emergency.

Being timely is one of the ways we can serve one another well.

Every song has a direction.

Horizontal | Man to Man
Testimony, encouragement, and biblical truth sung to one another.

Vertical | Man to God
Praise, prayer, thanksgiving, surrender, and adoration directed to God.

God’s Word to Man | Proclamation
Declaring what God has revealed in Scripture: His character, works, promises, and our identity in Christ.

Inward | Man to Self
Speaking truth to your own soul through reflection, repentance, remembrance, and surrender.

Before you put a song in the mouth of your congregation, ask: Is it biblically sound? Does it represent God accurately? Does it point to Jesus?

A great melody doesn’t excuse bad theology.

We aren’t just choosing songs. We’re shaping what people believe about God.

I was talking with my older brother @_thatdarngenius_ and said, “Man, I wish what God is doing in my life right now would’ve happened sooner.”

Immediately, I heard the Lord say in my spirit, “Trey, I’m redeeming the time you think you lost.”

It reminded me of Joel 2:25: “I will restore to you the years…”

If you feel like you’re too old, too late, or that too much time has been lost, be encouraged. God is able to restore the years and redeem the time. What you thought was lost is not beyond His power to restore.
