“Plant, Animal, Human, Concrete, Word,” a 5-part city-wide multimedia installation for @inglewoodopenstudios

Rooted in the principles of animism, which hold that objects, places, and creatures all possess a distinct spiritual essence, “Plant, Animal, Human, Concrete, Word” explores humanity’s interconnected relationship with nature and the inanimate, envisioning a world where hierarchies between all species and all elements are dissolved.

Thank you @reneeafox @joycedallal @janedopeness for your dedication in supporting us and the arts in Inglewood.

Reframing the domestic as a site of resilience and resistance. Recognizing the absurdity in the performance of pleasing. The tension between obligation and release. Cornbread rises as communion. An undoing of roles we’ve long performed.
