Roaches!! I have a smol soft spot for roaches ever since working in pet stores. They became my colonies >:) and it was so fun watching them eat literally everything we threw in there! Death head roaches are big and their legs are so prickly that it sort of hurt when they crawled on my hand. But they look cool as heck 😎🪳 #cockroach #roach #reptile #bugart #crochetbug (I’m aware that this pattern isn’t oriented towards showing their wings and I’m sorry) I may update it in the future! taken in Rochester, New York by @attixmackmin

Crickets and grasshoppers! 🦗Crickets use their wings to chirp, while grasshoppers use their legs to make noise. You’re most likely to see grasshoppers because crickets are nocturnal! (Reptile keepers know this all too well, a cricket escapes an enclosure and you get to listen to it in your room allll night long - and it’s loud!) #cricket #grasshopper #bugart #amigurumi #crochetbugs taken in Rochester, New York by @attixmackmin

Cabbage White butterfly! It’s very easy to separate males from females. Female CWB’s always have 2 dots on their wings while males only have 1.

Monarch butterflies! Some people believe these are still endangered species - including me - however TECHNICALLY they are no longer critically endangered. Endangered or not, you can help this species by planting the correct milkweed (their host plant) for them to lay eggs on! Milkweed is the ONLY plant that they will lay eggs on and it’s a great food source for baby monarch caterpillars! #monarchbutterfly #bugart #crochet #crochetbug #fiberart taken in Rochester, New York by @attixmackmin

Caterpillar 🐛 caterpillars eat A LOT. Their weight increases almost three thousand times before pupating. Also, my favorite fun fact… TRUE caterpillars only have 6 legs! #caterpillar #veryhungrycaterpillar #bugart #crochetbugs #insectart
(Going further, I will be making the very hungry caterpillars antennae a lighter purple) by @attixmackmin

Do you hate mosquitoes biting at ya? Well the dragonfly can help with that! Dragonflies are voracious mosquito predators. They can eat 50-100+ mosquitos a day. Thank you dragonflies, thank you

Snails 🐌 one of my favorite bugs. Did you know snails live from 3-6 years in the wild? In captivity they can live as long as 10-15 years. #snail #snailart #bugart #crochet #crochetbug taken in Rochester, New York by @attixmackmin
