Let's throw it back to this time last year...

28th January 2025, I said 'YES' to my childhood best friend, who I have been with since we were kids💖

I thought I was attending my friend’s mum’s 60th birthday party that night, I even came with a gift😅. I had my suspicions earlier that day but I crossed them off to avoid disappointment and still made sure I looked good, just in case🫣

I had even spoken to my best friend @molaraina_ on video call while heading home from work that evening, only to later walk in and see her standing there after flying in from Scotland. That scream was pleasantly deafening 😅. I love you so much Oluaina mi💞. My now mother-in-love being there too after speaking to her that same morning completely stunned me. Thank you mummy 🙇‍♀️

To my sisters and friends who helped my now husband plan this, thank you so much. You have always been there for me in ways that truly matter and having you present made the moment even more special. You have been with me through every season, celebrating my wins and standing by me when I needed support most.💗🫂 @__adetutu__ @pureheartoau @tayuzediva @enny_oreoluwa @ritoyosi

And to my younger sister, my confidant @toluwanimi___, you never fed my suspicions or gave anything away. You told me to live in the moment and you protected the surprise to the very end. I am forever grateful for the gift of you my love💑

Let's take a short trip down memory lane☺️

Our beautiful journey started long before we knew what love really was. It began when our parents, without knowing each other, decided to build their houses right next to each other. This was 2005🤭

We grew up as neighbours, separated by a fence that did not stand a chance against destiny. One day, that fence broke after a water tank collapsed and that was the day our friendship began. We started playing together, helping each other with homework, and just enjoying childhood with some lirru drama. Iykyk😅

We officially started dating in 2016. Although life happened; boarding school, university and distance but somehow we never lost touch as our love kept finding its way.

Nine years later, here we are, from childhood neighbours and friends to husband and wife, still growing, still learning, still choosing each other every day.

Through every season, the laughter, the tough days, the wins, and the quiet moments, we’ve seen God’s hand at work in our story.

Looking back now, we can only smile and say it was truly God’s plan. God-incidence not coincidence😊

If our 10 years together had a soundtrack, Perfect by Ed Sheeran definitely would be it🥹

10 years of us🥹❤️

10 years of growing, learning, laughing, praying, figuring life out, making memories and choosing each other through every season.

We may only be one year into marriage but we have got a whole decade of us behind us and honestly, we would not trade the journey for anything. We should have gotten married sooner🤭

Celebrating 10 years together yesterday felt even more special because before our wedding, before our vows, before our rings, we were just two kids who decided to love each other and keep choosing each other in the good and bad times😊

To the memories we have made, the ones we are making and all the beautiful ones still ahead, 🥂
