Posting a day late. Celebrated our 20th anniversary in Vegas. Good eats and fun on and off the Strip made for a great quick trip away. Cheers to many more celebrations. by @atxtami

Venice was our final stop in Italy. The canals filled gondolas were magical. We visited to the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica and had the opportunity to watch a Murano glass blowing demonstration. Our final culinary experience was a local cicchetti lunch. Italy is the hosting the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics. by @atxtami

One of the more memorable experiences was hiking to the Gampen Bunker, a secret WW2 bunker built into the mountain. Commissioned by Mussolini, it’s about 1 mile but was never used. What’s fascinating is that it’s also where the European and African tectonic plates meet. Now open to the public, visitors can experience the bunker’s damp and dark conditions. To boost worker morale, music from the time period was piped in. Today, the bunker showcases the pass used by travelers and pilgrims who stayed at the historic hotel, Zum Hirschen, as well as the minerals found inside, and conditions that are perfect to age local cheese. @greg.depaoli and I started our culinary travel experience in the South Tyrol region of the Dolomites. The views were stunning. Every day featured a different activity. We visited Roatnockerhof farmhouse where they have grown, milled, and baked with local grains for generations as well as make and age goat cheese. We also visited Widumhof butcher shop where they cure and smoke speck, sausages, and other meats. taken in Senale-San Felice by @atxtami
