AUB International Collective Exhibition 2026

Meet the Artist & Curator: Aditi Chotra

Course of study: BA (Hons) Visual Communication (alumna)

A little explanation of the artwork from Aditi Chotra

"This year, I exhibited Tulsi, an editorial exploring the space between ancient wisdom and medical science. In tradition, Tulsi is placed on the mouth of the deceased as a path to moksh (salvation), while scientifically, it helps prevent bacterial growth.

For me, it has always been both, a god, a ritual, a memory of early mornings with my mum, where faith and reasoning quietly coexisted”.

We captured a selection of the exhibiting artists on opening night, celebrating the vibrant community behind this year’s showcase.

Presented by TheGallery in collaboration with AUB Students’ Union (AUBSU), TheBUG, and AUB International.

The AUB International Collective Exhibition 2026 highlights the creativity, diversity, and talent within AUB’s international student body.

This unique exhibition brings together artwork from students of varied cultural and religious backgrounds, offering a rich and inclusive perspective on contemporary practice.

The exhibition showcases a wide range of disciplines and approaches, featuring works from current projects, past explorations, and newly created pieces.

All contributors are international students who have studied and currently studying at AUB, reflecting the breadth of skills and specialisms within this dynamic community.

COMMUNITY COLLABORATION: Christchurch Community Partnership and Poole Waste Not Want Not in association with Talbot Village Trust

As communication designers, our students use their skills for live briefs, planning strategic social media campaigns to reach specific users with targeted messages over time. It has been exciting this term to work with two local charities, dedicated to ending hidden hunger and social isolation. We welcomed staff, volunteers and charity service users from Christchurch Community Partnership to the CDS studio over tea and biscuits to learn more about them and the unique challenges facing both the charities and people they help. Students showed the elderly service users around campus with highlights including the Museum of Design in Plastics and the Print Room.

GUEST LECTURE: Ian Wharton

Delighted to welcome Ian Wharton, Founder and CEO of Aide Health, to BA Communication Design and Strategy at Arts University Bournemouth. Ian shared valuable insights on AI in the creative industries and education and highlighted the essential role of humans in design. Our industry connections are a valuable part of studying here at AUB, bringing their unique real world perspectives and ideas helping to develop student knowledge and entrepreneurship.

As part of our New Futures initiative, we spent this week at @inspiredaub leading a talk and workshop on Creative Playbooks and Manifestos.

The session explored why these tools matter: they align teams, sharpen ideas, and create the conditions for more confident and courageous creativity.

It was energising to see students engage with the frameworks, challenge assumptions, and build their own ways of thinking.
