Our new chapter for Audacity Rising opened with a magical night that surpassed all our expectations! These behind-the-scenes pics will give you a taste of the special energy and beautiful images that we all experienced from both sides of the cameras. Our live broadcast of the Magnetic North premiere unfolded seamlessly thanks to the masterful conception, development and execution with our whole team of TV wizards, eloquent panelists and thoughtfully engaged guests. The evening was informative, beautifully presented and left everyone ready for more episodes to come. Our opening topic was Housing and Affordability and can be streamed on the Northern California Public Media KRCB YouTube channel by searching for Magnetic North. It is really worth the viewing! The topic for our second episode next week will be Labor and the Cost of Living with more great panelists having some compelling things to say. Please join us either live, in the studio, or streaming on YouTube, or with our live broadcast on KRCB TV NorCal Public Media. We thank our generous hosts and partners in this venture, starting with our unparalleled Director and lead Producer, Paul Swensen, and his whole team of Aces, and our superb Moderator Shandra Back, and of course our remarkable and loquacious panelists, and finally our wonderful audience who graced our production with their rapt attention followed by some remarkable questions in our Q&A after the show. We hope to see more of you next week, and in the months ahead! If you want to join us, or comment, or even contribute to our productions leave us a message here on our page and we will get back to you. taken in NorCal - Public Media by @audacity_rising

Then something amazing happened. It started when we helped our friend Paul Swensen connect with VIDAS law group, our partners for fundraising and benefitting the immigrant community. Paul is a wonderful producer/director for PBS TV at the KRCB studios. His production team was making a national broadcast series for PBS called Generations 250 to honor our nations' 250th birthday with a series about the story of immigration to America. The team wanted to wrap the series with an episode called Arrivals 250, which focused on three generations of immigrants local to Santa Rosa Cal. VIDAS helped him put together the three generations to appear in the segment and also provided the Host of the episode with the Executive Director of VIDAS, Monica Julian. When the episode was complete Paul decided they would do an exclusive screening of the segment (and a fundraiser) for the Santa Rosa community that also included a panel discussion in the program with the participants in the episode. We were fortunate to be hosted by Peter Coyote at the event. After the show Audacity Rising had a conversation with Paul about doing an ongoing Panel discussion covering a whole range of topics of compelling interest to us all as Americans in this time of polarity and divisions. Paul saw the merits in our ideas, and then Northern California Public Media saw the merits in our proposal, and Magnetic North was conceived and will now be launched on October 1st, 2026, in collaboration with KRCB TV and Pauls' incredible team as partners in the project. Going forward we will be posting our progress with the series, so watch this space!!!! taken in Rialto Cinemas Sonoma County by @audacity_rising

And then there was RAP at its finest! The .WAV is an extraordinary band that brings it with their Funk, Hip Hop, R&B and Soul that absolutely drives you to your feet and you just gotta HOLLAR and Move until your body, soul and brain are satisfied, and then you get up and do it all over again. Man, these cats are Great. We highly urge you to look everywhere until you find them, and go see for yourself! taken in The Lost Church - Santa Rosa by @audacity_rising

We had such a great time at the Friedman Event Center that we just had to do it again with some more of our phenomenal Artist friends, this time bringing some of the best in Americana music with Dirty Cello, and some world class Cajun boogie with Tom Rigney and Flambeau. What a night, and what a cause as we boogied down for Preddy and Goode. Wish you were all there to see it! taken in Friedman Events Center by @audacity_rising

As if doing benefit concerts with wonderful artists wasn't enough to keep our hands and hearts full, we decided in April to add a catered dinner and an auction and have 3 incredible artists to our lineup, one of them being Grammy Nominated, and suddenly we had ourselves a GALA to reverberate for all times in our very brightest memories and hallowed archives!!! taken in Friedman Events Center by @audacity_rising

Our first excursion to the ancient Spanish culture and traditions was not enough to satisfy the thirst for the music and dancing and singing of the epoch songs and visual representations of transporting beauty and cultural meaning. So, we did it again to regale a new audience this time in Marin, who were every bit as enthusiastic and elated for the show. taken in Showcase Theatre At Marin Civic Center by @audacity_rising

Have you ever been to Paris while still sitting in a seat in your homeland? You really should have come joined us for this transformative excursion into the good old romantic days in grand ol' Paris. If you have ever loved the magical works and voice of Edith Piaf, you would have been taken right back to her chanson in a favorite cafe on the back streets of memory! taken in Showcase Theatre At Marin Civic Center by @audacity_rising
