Finding small pockets of “okay” in the middle of it all. I’ve been thinking a lot about the rigid needs of imaginary things, the unearned senses of urgency awarded to the mundane and uninteresting. Huge shoutout to our students in Japanese Americans & Mass Incarceration (Dakota Tseng), Critical Race Theories (Kay Hibbert and Juno Brooks [FA24]), and the Race, Power & Resistance Major (Yusef Scott-Weatherbee) for working at the New York State Community Commission on Reparations Remedies public hearing at the Ithaca Downtown Conference Center last Thursday (September 18, 2025)!

They welcomed attendees, collected participant information, and made sure Ithaca-area residents had their chance to share reflections and proposals related to reparations in New York State. I do get out of the station from time to time!

After a lot of hard work, including (but not limited to) almost 600 combined on air hours for break-staff, taking on 12 hours of radio across two stations last semester, creating half of the Radiothon shows and staying awake to air every single one, creating a Black History Month special for almost every speciality show and airing the majority of those specials myself, securing audio bytes from the great @chiefadjuahofficial , @iamelena , and @sonajobarteh , not to mention adding nearly 1000 songs to the station both physically and digitally - it’s safe to say I’m excited to announce that I will be serving as the @wicb Station Manager for the 2025-2026 academic year. This next year is the year WICB comes back in full force. I’m excited to take y’all along for the ride. by @audio.logical
