𝘎𝘌𝘛 𝘊𝘓𝘖𝘚𝘌𝘙 𝘛𝘖 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘔𝘜𝘚𝘐𝘊

Ahead of yesterday’s AudioQuest XTRM Statement Series event at Audio Ark, Steph Patsula sat down with Dave Smith of AudioQuest for a conversation about something that can feel a little mysterious when you’re first getting into hi-fi: 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦?

The conversation offered an entry point into AudioQuest’s approach to cable design, and the idea that a great cable isn’t about adding something to the music. It’s about getting out of the way.

As Dave put it:

“𝘈 𝘤𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮. 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘦’𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦.”

Yesterday, we had the chance to put that idea into practice, listening together and demonstrating AudioQuest’s Dragon XTRM and Thunderbird XTRM speaker cables.

More from Steph and Dave’s conversation coming soon. 👀
