We can confirm that, following the conclusion of the 2026 season, 1st XI captain Rob Hemmings has decided to step down from the captaincy.

Rob has been an outstanding captain and leader for Audley CC since taking the reins in 2018, completing nine seasons at the helm.
His time in charge has seen steady and continued progress on the pitch, highlighted by securing our return to Premier A with the Division One title in 2018.

A true warrior on the pitch, Rob has played a huge part in establishing Audley back in the top flight, building a competitive and exciting side for the club to move forward with.

Everyone at Audley CC would like to thank Rob for his commitment, leadership and dedication throughout his time as captain. His contribution to the club has been invaluable, and we look forward to seeing him back out in the middle next season! 💪🏏

Thank you for everything, Skip! 💚💛 by @audleycc1885

END OF AN ERA: JIM ROGERS HANGS UP THE PADS 🏏

As the curtain falls on the 2026 season, we bring you news of a major milestone in Audley CC history. Jim Rogers has officially retired from playing cricket, bringing an end to a legendary career on the pitch.

In modern cricket, finding a true "one-club man" is an absolute rarity. From his earliest days pulling on the whites as a junior right through to representing our 1st XI with distinction, Jim has spent his entire playing life wearing the Audley colours.

A Leader & Silverware Winner
Beyond his years of service across our senior teams, Jim provided outstanding leadership as captain of our 2nd XI for a number of years, expertly guiding the side to trophy success- lifting the Talbot Shield in both 2013 and 2016.

Career Stats at a Glance
Over a monumental senior career spanning 473 games, Jim’s numbers speak for themselves:

🧢 473 Appearances

🏏 7,686 Runs (Average: 20.44)

💯 1 Century (100*) & 30 Half-Centuries

🧤 476 Total Dismissals (358 catches & 126 stumpings)

Continuing Off the Field
While we’ll miss seeing him out in the middle next spring, Jim isn't going anywhere! He will be continuing all of his vital off-field roles:

👦 Coaching our Under-9s team

📋 Serving on the Executive Committee

🤝 Driving our club sponsorship & digital social media content

Please join us in thanking Jim for an incredible playing career and his ongoing dedication to Audley Cricket Club! 💚💛

The season might be over, but our work isn't! We're calling on all players, members, and supporters to join us this Saturday from 09:00 for our annual end-of-season big push to get our ground ready for the winter.

Whether it's putting away the covers, tidying up the clubhouse/changing rooms, packing up the boundary ropes, or clearing up around the pitch, every single bit of help makes a huge difference to our club. Come down, bring the kids, lend a hand for an hour or two (or the whole morning!), and help us keep our home in top shape.

Many hands make light work!!!

See you all at the ground!
