Dear Macy,
Happy birthday, you’re officially 18! I hope this finds you wherever you are. It’s been 1081 days since you went missing. I’ve missed you for every second of every day. I never truly lived until I met you. Meeting you was the beginning of my life with Christ. The first time I ever knew God was real, was every prayer after you went missing. There were always shooting stars, everywhere. He gave me peace beyond my own understanding. You were the first person to bring me to Young Life. I continued to go to Young Life to feel your presence and instead I felt the Lord’s presence. You showed me a relationship with God because religion had hurt me. You never judged, you never stopped loving, you gave all without ever asking for anything in return. I’m permanently changed by you, with traits of you strewn throughout me. You taught me so much. I couldn’t have wished for a better best friend, dance partner, or duet partner. 3 years ago I told you I would be in Arizona for college, I kept my word in hopes that one day you would show up at my door.
Wherever you are, call me, I will answer; ask me to go anywhere, I will go; write to me, I will reply. The door will always be open for you and my love for you will never end. No matter how many days go by, you’ll forever be my Macy. I love you till eternity.
