The worst day of my life 💔

The day i lost my younger brother. Today marks exactly one month my sweet brother passed away

Chukwuebuka, my dearest brother, who was more like a sister to me because Ebuka was someone i could share my problems with. I was so comfortable telling Ebuka things that i couldn’t even tell my own mother. We were so close that Ebuka chose to study the same course i studied in higher institution. Sadly, because of his illness, he was only able to complete his first year

We had our disagreements and quarrels, but none of that changes how much i loved him 🤍

Ebuka is/was my Gee 🤍 There were times he would call me his first child and i would reply, “How can i be your first child? It’s you that’s my first child” Well, everything is making sense now because God should compensate me by sending my brother back to me as my SON 🤍

My brother of 22 years. My sweet boy 🤍

Now, all i am left with are your memories. I find myself going through our chats and listening to our voice notes, even the ones where we were arguing over something

Ebuka would always tell me, “I am proud of you, Nnenna. I want my future daughter to be like you” Even when i wasn’t around, he would tell my Mum that, “Mummy, i am proud of Nnenna. I am proud that she’s my sister”

Ebuka was my person 🤍🫂

I called him CHUKWUNKEMEBUKA “My God is big” or Bubu’m and he would reply, “This one you are calling me this name, hope you are not about to send me on an errand”

May Almighty God forgive your sins, comfort those of us you have left behind and grant your soul eternal rest in His bosom in Jesus Christ name, Amen 🙏🏻

May God continue to watch over our family, strengthen us and keep us until we meet again! 🙏🏻🤍

I will never forget you, Nna’m 🤍

I will always love you, miss you and carry you in my heart for the rest of my life 🤍 I loved you 22 years ago, i love you today, i will love you tomorrow and i will love you until my very last day 🤍

A MOTHER’S FAITH THROUGH GRIEF. EVEN IN GRIEF, SHE CHOSE GOD.

This video was made in the hospital when i went to see my brother, a few days before he went to be with the Lord, my Mum was so positive about a lot of things. But God’s ways and our ways aren’t the same!

In all of these, i am so grateful to God for how He’s holding my Mum because, truthfully, i expected a much heavier breakdown from her as a Mother. But my Mum’s word in all of these is:
“Somebody gives you something to hold and the owner comes back and says to you, ‘Give me what i gave you. I am here to collect what belongs to me’ Will you drag the property with the owner?”

Now, in her context, the owner is God and the property is Chukwuebuka her son who is now our Guardian Angel 🤍

In my Mum’s understanding, God gave her Ebuka to love, raise, care for and experience as her son. And when God called him back, she believes she cannot fight God for what ultimately belongs to Him. THE OWNER HAS COME FOR WHAT BELONGS TO HIM!

I think these words are how she is surviving, not because Ebuka wasn’t precious to her, but because he was so precious to her that she recognizes that, ultimately, his life was always in God’s hands

My mum has got to be one of the strongest women i know, by the grace of God 🙏🏻 In all of these, my Mum is stronger than the rest of us. Unlike me, she didn’t allow it to affect her faith in God. As funny as it is, it actually brought her closer to God

In my head, i am like, “This woman no dey vex for God”

But i have come to realize, each passing day, that her accepting what happened doesn’t mean the absence of grief. And her still having faith and trusting God doesn’t mean the loss of her son doesn’t hurt. She is grieving too. She just chooses to grieve while holding on to God. God is really holding her and He is comforting her in the places where even her own strength cannot reach!

People tell me things like “Augusta, you always post on your status and on your story, but you don’t anymore” And i replied “There’s nothing fun to post. Nothing makes sense at all. What’s there to post?”

But honestly, i don’t know if it’s my guilty conscience or grief, but deep down, i sometimes feel like if i post anything funny or post myself enjoying a moment or a video or picture of me smiling, my brother, CHUKWUEBUKA, who is now my GUARDIAN ANGEL, may say “This my Adanne don’t miss me ooo” (It’s something i know he can say. Imagining him saying it in his voice is actually funny 🤣🤭🤍)

I know it may just be a thought in my head, but it’s there.

SLIDES FROM THE MONTH OF MAY IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER ❤️

Slide 1: I attended service at @streamsofjoyabuja and got wristbands, anointing oil, mantles, stickers and this very cute El Roi (“the God that sees me”) shirt. The month of May tested me but God came through for me! 🙏🏻🙌🏻
Slide 2: Out for my daily 2k while i was in Port Harcourt
Slide 3: Snapchat reminded me of when i was learning how to drive four years ago. Fast forward to now, i am not even sure i remember how to hold a car key 🤣🤭 talk less of driving. They weren’t joking when they said “practice makes perfect”

Attended service at @streamsofjoyinternational today and it was truly spirit filled 🙏🏻 God’s presence was so tangible! His Word over my life will not fail. The Word of God is Rhema indeed! 🔥
Every prophecy concerning me will surely come to pass. 🙌🏻 My steps are ordered and protected by God!
Nothing missing, nothing broken in Jesus Christ name, Amen! 🙏🏻

May the oil upon Pastor @realjerryeze head never run dry! May Almighty God continue to protect, bless, strengthen and uplift him always. May God continue to use him as a vessel of light and transformation to many lives in Jesus Christ name, Amen! 🙏🏻
