On April 21 this year, it marks ten years since we lost one of the greatest artists of all time – Prince Rogers Nelson. I want to honour his legacy with a full night dedicated to the music. A night in purple.

My name is August Heldt, also known as Slicker Than Your Average (S.T.Y.A). Over the years, I’ve hosted several Prince tribute nights in Stockholm – most notably sold-out live shows at Fasching – as well as DJ sets around the city, all celebrating the vast and timeless universe of Prince.

This year’s A Night in Purple takes place at Österlånggatan 17 in Gamla Stan, Stockholm. An incredibly cozy venue offering high-quality food with global influences, thoughtfully crafted with strong inspiration from – and respect for – local ingredients.

I’m the resident DJ here every Friday from 19:00–23:00, usually playing R&B, soul, hip hop, gospel, funk and more. But this Friday, the night is entirely devoted to Prince and all the music he created, inspired, and touched.

Let’s celebrate the legacy together.
