Short story time…

Earlier this year, our manager told us he was moving out of his beloved office and studio. No big deal, right?

Thing is, this building has been a fixture of the Brisbane music scene for decades. Originally built by world-class engineers and best known as QUT's training facility, you'd be hard-pressed to find a Brisbane musician who hasn't recorded or trained there at some point. Seeing it go was a real loss.
So, in true August River style, we threw it a party. We invited our closest fans and friends, along with some of Brisbane's music elite, to send the building off in style.

We set up in the main live room just like we normally would, but this time with a real audience sitting in the room as we recorded. We captured every imperfection and every moment of real human connection, and we had the best time performing our songs live.

The best bit? We filmed the lot.

Catch the full live set on YouTube.

Big thanks to everyone who helped bring this together. taken in Keeze Studios by @augustriverband

How cool is this!

We get to perform at our favourite venue in Brisbane Lefty’s Music Hall.

We’re going to share the stage with the awesome Ella Hartwig and be joined by Maddison Kate. The best bit is that tickets are free.

We might even release a new song on the night. As always, we would love to see some friends in the audience. Come for a drink at the river bank with us. taken in Lefty's Music Hall by @augustriverband
