purple martins flying with a spectrogram of their song shown behind them - the completion of garrett's purple martin thigh wraparound piece!! swipe through to see photos of the colony nesting in manmade boxes.

there are 32 total purple martins pictured in this nesting site, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of the colony and species! we worked on this piece for 23 hours over the course of 4 sessions.

in the video you can see the manmade PVC and wooden nest boxes lofted onto poles. the structure and inspiration for the project is modeled after the purple martin nesting colony in chambers bay, near tacoma. thank you garrett for your trust and dedication to this project 💜 by @auk.let
