What is this, you ask?

This bit of gloriousness is a PUMPKIN PIE BLINTZ.

I made a blintz, buttered it, then filled it with cooked pumpkin persimmon pie filling, cardamom vanilla cinnamon three-honey whipped cream, smetana (yes, you read that right, whipped cream AND smetana), drizzled the whole shebang with honey and rolled it up.

Russified Sloppy Joe:

Pickled tomatoes, ketchup (I was lazy), and some diced onions sauteed in butter with a pinch of salt until slightly wilted.

Tomato products in a food processor, tossed in after the onions are ready. Simmer until thickened.

Meat was wild boar marinated in fresh whey, crushed garlic, and pickled garlic blended or food processed or whatever.

(Hopefully I just said, "Also, I drank tea with smetana and honey." Also hopefully someone will correct me if I conjugated something wrong or got something else wrong.)

Okay y'all. I'm about to blow YOUR MINDS.

I present RUSSIAN Blue Cheese Dressing. Now, I don't know if that is really a thing or not, but upon seeing a recipe for regular blue cheese dressing that called for sour cream and mayo, I realized the Russians have a thing that's better than that. It's called #сметана or #smetana and it's YUMMY.

If you have a tiny bit of patience and a jar, you can totally make your own #домашняясметана (basically homemade smetana) and then have the yummiest blue cheese dressing you've ever had in your life!

It's like WHOA.

#pointreyesbluecheese of course. Duh?

I do admit to cheating a little and adding a splash of #ряженка #ryazhenka for extra tartness. I originally made my smetana pretty mild, and this dressing needed a bit more tang to compete with the Point Reyes. by @auntielillyth

Made my own toothpaste for only a few bucks INCLUDING the expensive essential oils.

What is in this magical toothpaste, you ask?

EGGSHELLS.

It's just ground and sifted eggshells, a little dry bentonite clay, a little oil (I used sunflower) and essential oils of your choice, and a dash of baking soda.

I also added some cinnamon and clove powder to compliment the oils I added.

I really wish I'd thought to take before and after pics, but my teeth have NEVER been so white!!!

Is that sour cream in the tea? Yes. Yes it is.

Don't freak, it's not sour cream like you buy at the store. That's not the same thing as smetana, even though it's translated as sour cream.

This is straight up actual cream I fermented in my own home-grown cultures. Since I'm drinking black currant tea, it goes perfectly with the slight tang on the berries.

As an added bonus, smetana won't separate in acidic drinks like milk dues!.

Seriously, if you are having trouble with gluten free stuff and can do dairy, try making a little ryazhenka and adding it to your batter. I LEGIT just snarfed a blintz straight.

It tasted like a tortilla when I overcooked it for about a minute. A REAL tortilla. Almost.

I'm beside myself with delight.

Super yummy pulled pork and cabbage blintz with smetana mushroom sauce.

Again, I hope I made the sauce right. I just kinda made it up because I couldn't find what I was looking for in time and I was hungry.

I added the fermented baked milk and I'm VERY pleased with the result. It actually REALLY helps the GF prep, believe it or not.

I'm quite pleased with my Tumble Pig so far.

This is merely a progress pig pic. Okay, three PPP's. But he's just SOOOOOOOOOO cute I couldn't wait to share him!!!

He's VERY time consuming though. But I think that's just because I'm using such fine wool.

Each of the hooves was 2-3 hours just for that. I used no filler. He's just solid wool. He's a solid dyed in the wool pig. Literally. His insides are as pink as his outsides.

I am BEYOND thrilled with him so far and can't wait to share more PPP's.

Once again, #queenofthefatcops finishing up another spindle.

On a side note, DO order a #straddlecreekspins spinning cushion. EVERYTHING spins on in. Seriously. Even the crappy spindles. This isn't one of the crappy ones, but I just tried a few on it in the last week and they spun better on this cushion than in the bowels made for them.

If you can only ever get one thing to spin in, make it one of these. by @auntielillyth

Baked milk. HOLY CRAP, Y'ALL. The smell is EXQUISITE.

I was going to wait to share the whole process, but it SMELLS TOO GOOD TO WAIT!!!

VERY proud of this. Домашняя сметана (domashnaya smetana). Russian homemade sour cream.

I made this literally from scratch. Made my own cultures and everything. Didn't use one from yogurt or anything.

So easy to make and even store bought домашняя сметана seems a pale approximation of this ambrosia.

This is absolutely DIVINE.

I used Straus cream, OBVS.
